Dana White On Ronda Rousey Incident, UFC Welterweight Title Rematch Expected, Bellator Card

- During the UFC 205 post-fight press conference, UFC president Dana White confirmed that the promotion would look to pairing Tyron Woodley and Stephen Thompson together again in a rematch for the welterweight title. The bout at UFC 205 ended with Woodley still champion after a majority draw was declared. Two scorecards had it a draw, while the third ruled in favor of Woodley.

"You rematch them," White boldly said. "It was a draw and the fight was ridiculous. It was a 'Fight of the Night.' Do it again."

That means Demian Maia, who was in New York City for the weekend, will have to wait on the sidelines or take another bout and risk his title contender status. Maia, a former middleweight contender, bested Carlos Condit most recently for his sixth consecutive win.

- After weigh-ins for UFC 205 last week, the UFC brought Ronda Rousey and Amanda Nunes on the stage to promote their December encounter. The two will meet for the female bantamweight title at UFC 207 from Las Vegas.

Typically, the fighters are interviewed. However, Rousey walked off the stage, much to the surprise of Joe Rogan. UFC president Dana White, though, clarified that no interview was expected to happen and that it was just one of many issues over the extended weekend that went down.

"She was never supposed to speak, and neither was Amanda," White said (thanks to MMAjunkie for the quotes). "My production guy screwed that up. It made Ronda look bad again ? like she just stormed off. They were not supposed to do an interview. They were supposed to go out there and square off, and they were both supposed to walk away."

- Ahead of two UFC cards this Saturday night, Bellator 165 will take place live on Spike from the SAP Center in San Jose. In the main event, Michael Chandler defends his lightweight title vs. Benson Henderson. The card also features Michael Page vs. Fernando Gonzalez and the debut of Kevin Ferguson, Jr. on the prelims.
