WWE just announced they have released Raw Superstar Emma, here's their full statement:

"WWE has come to terms on the release of WWE Superstar Emma.

WWE wishes Emma the best in all of her future endeavors."

Emma signed a development deal with WWE back in 2011 and eventually made her main roster debut in January of 2014. That run was cut short in June of that year, when she was arrested in Hartford, Connecticut for not paying for an iPad case when using a self-checkout machine at a Walmart. WWE initially released her, but reversed their decision hours later.

Her bubbly dancing gimmick (that was very popular in NXT) didn't work out on the main roster, so she reinvented herself back in NXT as a darker egotistical heel. This led to her return to the main roster, which again was cut short, this time due to a back injury. Her long hiatus away included a repacked "Emmalina" gimmick that ended up not playing out, because producers didn't feel like she could play the role properly. WWE brought back the egotistical Emma, and it was up and down booking from there. Through social media, she tried to get some traction with the "#GiveEmmaAChance" hashtag, which still did little for her booking.

Last Sunday, Emma lost to Asuka in her main roster debut at WWE TLC. She then demanded a rematch and lost the following night to Asuka on Raw, which was her last TV appearance. As of this writing, Emma has yet to comment on any of her social media accounts on the release.
