Coach Talks About Time In WWE, HBK Note, Mickie Jay Speaks & More

– Arda Ocal and Jimmy Korderas of Right After Wrestling Radio recently caught up with referee Mickey (Jay) Henson. When asked about refereeing Goldberg at Starrcade 98, he said, "That was the beginning of the end for WCW. I don't think Bill minded it very much?he was making so much money at that point. But it could've gone so much longer before blowing off the whole thing." He was also asked about refereeing Foley/Edge at WrestleMania 22 to which he replied, "I don't think Mick Foley gets nervous anymore about anything ? he's nuts! I don't think Edge was nervous. I didn't have a lot to do in that match but count the 123." He also talked about his health (battling lymphoma), watching the present day-product, memories of Nitro, referee ribs, troubles of refereeing some matches, "blading" Sid at Halloween Havoc and going fishing with JBL. – Astheworldturnsleft did an interview with former WWE announcer Jonathan Coachman. When asked about some of the embarrassing moments he had in WWE and if he was worried that it would impact his future as a legitimate sportscaster, he replied, "Well, you really hit the nail on the head, and it's funny you mention DX because the one day I remember vividly is ... in Rochester, New York, one night, and I showed up at the building, and they said, "Hey, we've got this great idea tonight. We need you to go out and get a pair of zebra print thong underwear." ... The skit was basically me yelling at them, them pulling my pants down, shoving my head through a wall and then spray-painting my derriere. And as I'm doing it, all I can think in my head is, "I'm going to have an e-mail or a phone call or something tomorrow that says, 'Thanks, but no thanks. We don't need you working here anymore.'" And it definitely concerned me because every place that I worked, starting with CSTV, they were like, "We really like you, we think you have a lot of talent, but we're not going to promote that you're part of the network because we don't want the backlash of wrestling. Which really was frustrating, because I think that people in wrestling, The Rock, John Cena, Triple H, they have proven, and I've proven, that we are as talented as anybody in the country at doing television and doing entertainment." – As noted earlier, Tito Ortiz is out of his UFC Fight Night 24 main event bout against Antonio Rogerio Nogueira at the KeyArena in Seattle, Wash. on Saturday, March 26. Replacing him will be undefeated light heavyweight prospect Phil "Mr. Wonderful" Davis. A four-time Division 1 All American at Penn State, Davis has managed to go undefeated in eight fights as a professional. He has picked up half of those wins in the UFC, dominating Brian Stann, Alexander Gustafsson, Rodney Wallace, and Tim Boetsch so far.
