Anderson Silva Reveals Future Plans To Dana White, UFC 168 Does Big Numbers, Post-Surgery Pic

- According to UFC president Dana White, all-time great Anderson Silva is seeking a return to action following the career-threatening injury he suffered at UFC 168.

The 38-year-old fighter broke both bones in his lower left leg while kicking UFC middleweight champ Chris Weidman – the man who unseated Silva from the throne – in a rematch last month. Considering his age, well-established legacy and the severity of the injury, many expected Silva to hang up his gloves. However, after revealing the unfortunate news of Dominick Cruz's injury to ESPN, White explained to the LA Times that Silva has been in touch with him and is looking to fight again once he's healed up.

"Oh, yeah, he told me he wants to still fight," White said of Silva.

Silva's current prognosis has him out of action anywhere from six months to a year, so it's difficult to say when he'd be able return to training – let alone a fight. By all current indications though, it appears that Silva is intent on making a comeback no matter how long it takes.

- MMAJunkie has reported that UFC 168 – the event where Silva shattered his leg – has drawn one of the highest gates in Nevada MMA history.

The fight card, which took place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, drew in 15,650 spectators for a reported live gate of $6,238,792.00. UFC 168 has only been beaten out by UFC 148, which pulled in $6,901,655.00 at the same venue in 2012.
