Roddy Piper On The Rock And Current Talent Showing Him Respect In One Of His Final Interviews

One of "Rowdy" Roddy Piper's final interviews was on the set of the horror film, The Chair, in which he plays a vicious guard named Murphy. Piper was interviewed on set by Robert "Corpsy" Rhine, who also stars in the film and serves as an Executive Producer. During the interview, Rhine asked Piper what he thinks of the current crop of talent, like The Rock.

"During his [Rock's] tenure, I wasn't there at that time," Piper said. "He came up to me – I think it was the last WrestleMania – he comes and hugs me and says, 'I want to pay my respects, you were my hero when I was a kid, you were the original gangster.

"They all are very, very kind," Piper continued. "Anyone that answers the bell, I have all the respect in the world for them. They all ... I was the youngest in the world in history when I started [at age] 15. That's illegal now [laughs]. They all know that, and they give me kindness and I appreciate that. I love them."
