Ronda Rousey And Coach Asked About Rousey's Mother's Controversial Comments

Ronda Rousey has quickly become the biggest star in mixed martial arts. Her success has crossed over to talk-show appearances, WWE spots, and movie roles. However, her mother, AnnaMaria DeMars, made some colorful comments about Rousey's coach.

Earlier this month, DeMars said that Edmond Taverdyan was a "terrible coach" and that she'd run over him with her car if she was able to. At Ronda Rousey's media day this week, both Rousey and Taverdyan were asked about the comments.

"It doesn't matter for me," said Rouey's coach, Edmond Taverdyan "We have a fight in front of us November 14, and that's all I worry about and I care about at this point. It's her mom, at the end of the day, that's it. I'm a person that's never spoke negative about anybody's mom and will never do that. Friendship, anybody. I've always said a mom is a mom and that's it. That's all I have to say."

Rousey took a much more direct approach, and wouldn't comment through the media. Rousey, who has been known to value her privacy, said that she would prefer to talk about the situation with her mother directly.

"Any reaction and response I have for my mother, she's going to hear from me and not a media outlet, I really don't think that's anybody's business," said Rousey.

DeMars has been known for her brash comments in the past, specifically towards the likes of Rousey's rival, Cris "Cyborg" Justino. You can check out Rousey's full media day interview above, courtesy of MMAFighting.

Rousey is scheduled to defend her UFC Women's Bantamweight Title at UFC 193 on November 14. Wrestling Inc will have full, live coverage of the event.
