Lucha Underground Talent Takes Shot At WWE Diva Standards, Says They Didn't Like Her Mentality

Lucha Underground star and former WWE developmental talent Ivelisse Velez posted an interesting Instagram photo yesterday, talking about trying to fit the WWE mold, and them not liking her mentality.

Velez was originally a cast member on the 2011 edition of Tough Enough, which only saw WWE Diva Cameron make it to the main roster. Velez was signed to a developmental contact however, and according to her, tried to meet WWE's standards so she could earn a pay check.

"Holy crap . Came across this pic," Ivelisse said. "First set of pics when I arrived. Trying to please #WWE with their "Diva" bulls–t standards so I could get my paycheck.. they certainly did NOT appreciate my Anti Diva mentality.... Go watch Women Wrestlers."

The photo shows Ivelisse with blonde hair while a member of the FCW roster. She was later released, something she attributed to having friction with a trainer in WWE developmental, according to a 2013 interview with Ring Belles Online. Among other things, she was told to 'not wrestle like a guy.'

Ivelisse would later go on to participate in the TNA Gut Check challenge before joining Lucha Underground, where she has found great success thus far. She became a Trios Champion alongside Angelico and fellow Tough Enough 2011 alumni Son of Havoc. Lucha Underground talent Marty The Moth was also a participant on the 2011 edition of Tough Enough along with Ivelisse and Son of Havoc.
