Backstage News And Notes On The WWE RAW Cruiserweight Division

It was revealed back during the WWE Cruiserweight Classic that the company was really weighing the competitors to keep them under the 205 pound weight limit. Dave Meltzer noted on the latest Wrestling Observer Radio that WWE is no longer weighing the cruiserweight competitors on RAW.

It was also noted that Brian Kendrick was billed at around 150 pounds during the CWC but he was announced at around 170 pounds on RAW. Meltzer speculated that the cruiserweight changes may have something to do with Vince McMahon. Vince had very little to do with the Cruiserweight Classic but obviously has his hand in the division now that it's on RAW.

On a related note, Noam Dar was backstage at last night's RAW but not used. No word yet on when he will make his TV debut.

Last night's RAW matches saw Cruiserweight Champion TJ Perkins defeat Ariya Daivari in a non-title match, plus tag team action with Sin Cara and Lince Dorado defeating Tony Nese and Drew Gulak. It's believed that Daivari will be a part of the division going forward. Regarding Cara, he will also be a part of the division going forward. He's been billed at 205 pounds in the past but is currently being billed at 198 pounds.
