Jim Ross On How Announcers Were Told To Call Goldberg Vs. Brock Lesnar, If It Should Be Done More

Jim Ross posted his latest blog at JRsBarBQ.com. In the blog, he wrote about WWE announcers being told to call the Brock Lesnar vs. Goldberg match at the Survivor Series like a fight, which was first reported in The Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

"Saw online where, allegedly, WWE gave their broadcasters instructions on how to frame their narrative for the Goldberg-Lesnar bout at Survivor Series and it was reported that it was to call the match as if it were a real fight with MMA flavor," JR wrote. "My question would be why wouldn't that be the goal on every bout that fits that description or comes close.

"This is not just for WWE but for every wrestling promotion that is if the goal is still to get one's audience to buy in and suspend their disbelief while getting lost in the story. That is the objective, right?"

Much more is contained in Ross' latest blog, including his thoughts on UFC's interesting year ahead, Friday's ROH PPV, if The Royal Rumble will be able to sell out the Alamodome and more. You can check out the full entry by clicking here.
