WWE UK Championship Tournament Results: First Round Complete, Pete Dunne, Trent Seven, Tyler Bate

Here are the first round match-ups:

* Pete Dunne vs. Roy Johnson
* Saxon Huxley vs. Sam Gradwell

- Triple H kicks things off saying "Every empire has a beginning..." and asks the crowd "Are you ready?" The title is then shown off in the middle of the ring.

- Michael Cole and Nigel McGuinness welcome us to the event and show off the tournament bracket.

Trent Seven vs. H.C. Dyer

Out first to a nice pop is Seven, with Dyer out second. The two shake hands to kick things off. Big Chop from Seven, Dyer with a big dropkick that sends Seven to the outside. More chops from Seven, missing the final one and hitting the ring post. Dyer misses corner splash, multiple machine gun chops from Dyer, whipping Dyer into the other corner. First pin attempt, Dyer kicks out with ease. Spinebuster and pin attempt by Dyer for only a 2-count.

Missed strikes with Dyer landing a massive punch that sends Seven to the mat, another 2-count. Dyer hits a nice variation of a Blue Thunder Bomb, getting yet another 2-count. The crowd has been hot from the start of this match with constant chants and clapping. Dyer up to the top rope with a frog splashes, misses, Dyer with spinning back fist and the Seven Stars (Lariat) for the 1-2-3!

Winner: Trent Seven via pinfall

Jordan Devlin vs. Danny Burch

Out first is Burch with Devlin out second. A quick pin attempt by Devlin to kick things off. Suplex followed up by a shoulder tackle on Devlin, who recovers and lands a dropkick. Pin by Burch, kick-out at 2. Devlin uses his speed to get around Burch and land another dropkick. Devlin works Burch on the mat with elbows and a rear chinlock. Devlin playing up to the crowd with a smug attitude and locks on another rear chinlock.

After another onslaught of attacks, Devlin goes for a pin, kick-out at 2. Burch finally gets in some offense with a dropkick off the top rope and a kip-up. Burch with punches and an uppercut, another huge lariat, goes for the cover, 1-2! Burch with a spinebuster, knee to the face, headbutt, and a 2-count right into a crossface. Devlin gets to the ropes with a foot. Suplex countered by Devlin and rolls-up Burch for a 2-count. Double stomp and roundhouse kick. Burch is busted open badly in the back of the head. Burch just barely kicked out at two, but the ref said he didn't and stopped the match. Crowd doesn't like the call. After the match, Burch went for a handshake and Devlin kicked him right in the face, crowd boos hard.

Winner: Jordan Devlin via pinfall

Saxon Huxley vs. Sam Gradwell

Two of the bigger wrestlers in the tournament face off, multiple collar-and-elbow tie-ups. Both wrestlers going back and forth with wrist-locks and arm drags. Crowd referring to Huxley as "Jesus." Huxley landing huge blows to Gradwell's back, Gradwell lands dropkick and goes for a pin attempt, getting only a 1-count. Backbreaker by Huxley who seems to be getting the better these sequences.

Crowd having a lot of fun Huxley tonight, and he seems to be enjoying the attention. Big punches back and forth, Gradwell with forearms and uppercuts in the corner. Gradwell with another uppercut followed by a clothesline that flattens Huxley, Gradwell up to the top rope with a flying headbutt, goes for the pin, 1-2-3!

Winner: Sam Gradwell via pinfall

Pete Dunne vs. Roy Johnson

Dunne going after Johnson who initially looked dazed, but went into a dancing taunt. Vertical suplex by Johnson. The fight goes to the outside with Dunne stomping on Johnson's hand while it was on the stairs, he then focuses on that same injured hand then focusing on the knee. Pin attempt by Dunne, 2-count. Dunne goes for a clothesline, Johnson rallies with a slam, up to the second rope, Johnson hits a flying tackle.

Dunne with an enziguri kick, Johnson recovers with a Samoan drop, elbow to Dunne's face. Johnson jumps off the second rope and Dunne pops him right in the face on the way down. Pin attempt and 2-count. Dunne with a big kick to the head. Johnson tries to stay alive, dropping Dunne face first to the mat, another pin attempt, 2-count. Crowd with "Bruiserweight" chants. Dunne with a release vertical suplex, pump-handle flatliner, also known as The Bitter End. Pin for the 1-2-3.

Winner: Pete Dunne via pinfall

- Tyson T-Bone interview before the match, Tyson talks about his travels and going up against one of the toughest men in the tournament.

Wolfgang vs. Tyson T-Bone

As they go for a handshake, T-Bone with a headbutt right to Wolfgang's face. T-Bone with a punch, but Wolfgang lands dropkick in the corner. Wolfgang hits splash and then a dropkick off the top rope. Crowd is very much behind Wolfgang in this one. T-Bone strings together a few attacks and goes for a pin, 2-count. Multiple suplexes blocked by both men, Wolfgang finally hits one. Back and forth punches, Wolfgang with an uppercut, T-Bone slows him down with a rake to the eyes.

Wasteland by Wolfgang, who follows it up with a second rope moonsault! Wolfgang is not a tiny man either, he's moving like a cat around the ring. T-Bone recovers and throws Wolfgang to the floor, then throws him shoulder-first into the ring post. Wolfgang nearly counted out, makes it back to the ring, goes to the top rope and gets a huge uppercut by T-Bone. Wolfgang throw T-Bone down to the mat and lands a huge senton bomb! Cover, 1-2-3! Impressive performance by Wolfgang in this one.

Winner: Wolfgang via pinfall

- Wolfgang interview afterwards, he calls himself the big bad wolf, and that they will have a party when he takes the title back to Scotland.

James Drake vs. Joseph Conners

Both wrestlers shake hands to get the match started. Drake going after Conners' injured ear, which seems to just anger him. Drake out on the apron, landing big forearms to Conners face, gets back in the ring and hits a clothesline. Pin attempt on Conners, kicks out at 2. Running knee by Drake and goes for another pin, only gets a 2-count. Drake stands right on Conners' hand and slaps him in the face a few times. Again, Drake goes after the ear with a strike to the side of the head.

Conners finally gets in some offense with a clothesline and a big belly-to-back slam. Conners continues to gain momentum, now he's going after Drake's ear in retaliation. Drake gets back to his feet and is able to land some massive forearms in the corner, ref has to keep pushing him back. Drake went for a roll-up and sort of held the tights, for a 2-count. Conners with a creative elbow right into a backbreaker. DLD (variation of a flat fliner) by Conners and he gets the win!

- Interview with Mark Andrews, calling himself a lone wolf, an underdog, and no one should underestimate him.

Mark Andrews vs. Dan Moloney

Moloney tries to slow the action in the beginning, but Andrews' quickness allows him to get in a few attacks. Moloney with a chop, Andrews with a flip out of the corner, another flip and kick to Moloney's face. Andrews trying to get some steam off the ropes, Moloney presses him up into the air, goes for a cover to no avail. Moloney whips Andrews hard into the cover, pin, 2-count. Andrews is selling an injured back. Andrews thrown into the corner, tries to go over the top and gets caught. Andrews goes for a roll-up, changes into a double stomp to Moloney's stomach, into a norther-lights suplex, rolls through into a standing moonsault.

Moloney sent to the outside, Andrews with a moonsault off the apron, and high fives a fan. Andrews to the top rope, but Moloney rolls away. Moloney continues to stay close with a hard soccer kick right to face, close 2-count on Andrews. Crowd cheers on Andrews, who suddenly lands a Stundog Millionaire (stunner), shooting star press! Pin! 1-2-3!

Tyler Bate vs. Tucker

Crowd going wild for Bate, chants start before the action gets going. Tucker brings Bate to the mat with a headlock. Both men with kip-ups as they play to the crowd. Takedown by Tucker, kip-up again into a moonsault. Bate throws "Bop" into the air and hits him with "Bang." Bate with an interesting kick to the head, slam, pin attempt for 2-count. More Tyler Bate chants. Hard kick by Tucker that flattens Bate, stunned look on his face.

Hurricanrana by Tucker, knee in the corner, thrown to the apron. Tucker with a slingshot downward spiral that gets a 2-count. Into the corner, Bate jumps off the second rope with an uppercut. Jack knife cover for a 2-count on Bate. Tucker with a kick straight to Bate's stomach, then tosses him over the top rope all the way to the floor. Tucker goes for the suicide dive and gets caught with an uppercut by Bate! On the floor, Tucker lands a head scissors take-down from the stairs down to the floor. Tucker throws Bate back into the ring, lands a kick to head, on the apron Tucker goes for a splash, but Bate catches him.

Bate with an airplane spin, stops, then goes the other way. Slam to the mat and Bate goes for the cover, 2-count. Tucker with a super duper kick that sends Bate out of the ring to the floor. Tucker chases after and throws him back in the ring, goes for the cover, 2-count! Tucker up to the top rope and senton bomb! Bate lifts the knees though! Bate with a sick wheelhouse kick and hits Tyler Driver 97 (sit-down powerbomb) for the win!

- Post-match on the stage, William Regal and Nigel McGuinness introduce the Quarter-Final participants: Tyler Bate vs. Jordan Devlin, Trent Seven vs. Wolfgang, Pete Dunne vs. Sam Gradwell, and Mark Andrews vs. Joseph Conners. Pete Dunne lands a cheap shot on Gradwell, and he's pushed away by an angered William Regal as we fade to black.
