WWE WrestleMania On-Sale Party Recap: Hideo Itami Vs. No Way Jose, WWE Stars Appear, NXT Matches

Thanks to Wrestling Inc. reader Tom Evison for sending in this recap from today's WrestleMania On-Sale party at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans:

Our hosts for the night were Booker T, Renee Young, Cathy Kelley, and Dasha Fuentes. Dasha handled the ring announcing and Cathy asked trivia questions and interacted with the crowd.

* First match saw Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch defeat Cutler and Blake in a decent showing. Blake and Cutler had an American flag gimmick on their denim jackets.

* Second match was Fabian Aichner vs. Raul Mendoza. Both got a bunch of offense in, but Raul Mendoza won in shocking fashion. Aichner sold and walked slowly to the back.

* Third match was the Authors of Pain facing off against the Street Profits. Montez Ford spent most of the match being worked over. Dawkins received a hot tag but it wasn't enough as the AoP won with a clothesline-leg sweep combo (can't remember the name of it). AoP were about to leave but then decided to come work over the faces some more. The Street Profits fought them off and danced in the ring.

* Fourth match was Peyton Royce vs. Bianca Belair. Peyton swore in the beginning of the match that she wouldn't get whipped, but that was a fallacy. Great back and forth action. After a pin attempt by Bianca, Peyton tried to climb out of the ring and was pulled back in underneath the ropes by Bianca. Peyton pulled in the ring apron causing the referring to be distracted by putting it back down which led to a thumb to the eye and Peyton's finisher.

* Last match was the only advertised match: No Way Jose vs. Hideo Itami. No Way Jose entered and danced through the crowd. Hideo kept shouting that he should be more respected (I agreed with him). Lots of fun dancing spots in the beginning. The end saw No Way Jose win. As Hideo Itami went up the ramp, out came the Street Profits who danced in the ring with Jose. They then danced their way through the crowd to end the show.

Charlotte Flair, the Hardys, Mark Henry, Heath Slater, Rhyno and Mickie James were all there and all but Charlotte signed autographs. It was a great night in the Dome.
