Booker T Thinks Charlotte Flair Should Sit Out Of Ronda Rousey Vs. Becky Lynch WrestleMania Match

WWE Hall of Famer Booker T was talking openly on his Heated Conversations podcast when the topic turned to WWE RAW Women's Champion Ronda Rousey vs. Becky Lynch at WrestleMania 35 in April. The episode was recorded before last night's RAW.

As previously noted, there have been contrasting reports that have emerged over the past few weeks regarding Lynch vs. Rousey. Some, such as a report from Sports Illustrated, claim that Lynch vs. Rousey will remain a singles match and it is a likely candidate to headline WrestleMania this year. Others, including multiple reports from Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, state that the women will be main eventing WrestleMania but that Charlotte Flair will be added to the match to make it a triple threat for the WWE RAW Women's Title.

On last night's RAW, Vince McMahon once again suspended Becky and announced Charlotte vs. Rousey for WrestleMania.

Booker's hope is that WWE will capitalize on Becky's momentum and ultimately keep Charlotte out of the match. He believes that proving herself in a singles match at WWE's grandest show of the year is the best opportunity for Lynch to truly shine.

"I say we shelve Charlotte Flair for this one. I really think, Charlotte Flair, come on, her legacy is going to be cemented throughout the years," Booker explained. "That's just a given! But right now, I honestly, truly think that it's Becky Lynch's time and Becky Lynch needs this more than Charlotte Flair, I think. Becky Lynch needs this spotlight to actually go out and continue to do business. This is Becky Lynch's moment to go out and shine on the biggest stage of them all, and I'm going to tell you right now, there's no other way that you can do that than being in a singles match, one-on-one, mano a mano.

"Let's go out and see how good Becky Lynch really is," Booker continued. "Let's go out and see how good Ronda Rousey can be, and that's the way I think it should be. I think, this time right here, this WrestleMania, this moment – 2019, it should be Becky Lynch's time. The man in the WWE! That's just the way I see it. Charlotte Flair, come on, she's going to have her time, Charlotte Flair is going to make history making moments. Charlotte Flair has already made history in so many different ways. But right now, like John Cena used to say, 'Your time is up, my time is now.' The time, right now, is Becky Lynch's."
