WWE 205 Live Recap (7/24): Drake Maverick Returns, Six-Man Tag Main Event

Intro song. (Hail the Crown)

Vic Joseph and Drew Gulak welcome us to another edition of 205 Live. Former 205 General Manager Drake Maverick makes his way to the ring for our opening contest. It was announced that Maverick would be returning to the roster earlier today. He'll be taking on Leon Ruff.

Drake Maverick versus Leon Ruff

Tie-up. Maverick's shoulder, which was injured at the hands of the cruiserweight champion Santos Escobar, gives out and he has to reset. Maverick grabs a wristlock, then brings Ruff down keeping pressure on the arm. Hammerlock applied. Ruff rocks Maverick with a sharp elbow. Referee asks if Maverick can continue...he says yes. Big standing lariat from Maverick takes Ruff down once again. He follows up with a leg lariat and a charging forearm. Bulldog and senton in succession by Maverick. Maverick dives over Ruff hitting a sunset bomb into the turnbuckles. He climbs to the top...Maverick taking his time...big elbow off connects...and that'll do it for our opener.

Drake Maverick wins by pinfall

Afterwards Maverick looks right into the camera and promises that he will be a future cruiserweight champion. Cut to a commercial for WWE shop.

A vignette hypes Isaiah "Swerve" Scott in the 205 division. He attributes dancing and making music to his love of performing for the WWE Universe, then says that sharing the ring with the likes of Johnny Gargano has helped him see what it will take to become a future champion. Swerve later calls out Santos Escobar, reminding him that he has been the only one who has defeated him since joining WWE.

It's announced that Swerve will team up with Tony Nese on next week's 205 Live.

Main event time. Ever Rise (Chase Parker & Matt Martel) make their way to the ring first. Their partner, Tehuti Miles, is out second. They'll be taking on the trio of Oney Lorcan, Danny Burch, and Mansoor.

Ever-Rise/Tehuti Miles versus Mansoor/Danny Burch/Oney Lorcan

Mansoor and Parker begin. Burch and Lorcan get the fans to chant "1, 2, 3! 1, 2, 3!" Tie-up. Parker goes for a hammerlock and gets it. Mansoor shows off his technique with a drop-toe hold. He dodges a charging Parker...Martel tags in but Mansoor sends him flying with an arm-drag. Lorcan tags in...he picks up where Mansoor left off by wearing down the arm. Burch in now...double-chop to Martel's chest. Lorcan, Mansoor, and Burch show their ability to work together by nailing Martel with tandem offense. Mansoor gets trapped in the heel team's corner...Miles tags in but Mansoor takes him down with a ground and pound. All six-men get in the ring for a face-off...the heels back off. Lorcan and Miles resume action...Ever Rise provides a serviceable distraction allowing Miles to hit a dropkick on Lorcan. Parker comes in...snapmare and middle-rope elbow drop. Ever Rise with a flash of double-team manevuers...Lorcan just kicks out. Parker goes for another top rope attack...Lorcan gets a boot up!

Burch gets the tag and he comes in hot. Huge uppercut to and big boot to Martel. Miles tries to slow Burch down but he German suplexes him across the ring. Burch nails a lariat. Mansoor and Burch go for a double team...Ever Rise pulls out Burch and Miles rolls up Mansoor...TWO! Slingshot neckbreaker by Mansoor sends Miles to ringside. He takes out everyone with a tope. Back in the ring...Mansoor school-boys Miles for the win.

Mansoor/Danny Burch/Oney Lorcan wins by pinfall

Lorcan, Burch, and Mansoor celebrate in the center of the ring. Commentary reminds us that Mansoor has now pinned Miles three weeks in a row.
