Actor Eric Andre Accidentally Injured During Stunt With John Cena (Video)

John Cena has made it a habit to not hurt others in the ring and he's been quite successful at doing that during his 20+ years in the squared circle. But the same can't be said for Cena outside the ring as he ? through no fault of his own ? was involved in a skit that concussed comedian Eric Andre.

Cena and Andre were filming a bit for "The Eric Andre Show" which airs on Adult Swim. The skit required Cena to grab Andre and throw him through a shelf just as he would throw a wrestler through the ropes. That part went as planned as the shelf broke away and Andre went through it without harm. However, what happened next wasn't planned and it ended up hurting the comedian.

"John Cena did the stunt right, but we prepped for the stunt wrong," Andre said on Jimmy Kimmel Live. "And, that metal shelf came over and clocked me in the head... And I got concussed."

Video on Kimmel shows Cena throwing Andre through the shelf which then tips over with the frame landing on top of him. Andre was immediately taken to the hospital and had what he described as a "Fred Flintstone, like Bugs Bunny [welt] on the side of my head." But Andre was in good spirits afterwards and joked with Kimmel, "They did a CAT scan, and I haven't been able to speak English since. I memorized this interview phonetically, actually."

Cena can also probably laugh about it now, but he realizes that concussions are very serious. During a 2016 interview with TMZ Sports, Cena said he would be willing to donate his brain to aid in research in regards to concussions or other brain injuries.

"I've donated my body to other things... If I could do something after I exist to help the existence of mankind to come, I'd think about it," Cena told TMZ before later affirming that he would donate his brain.

You can see a clip from the segment that caused the injury below. Above is video of Andre discussing the incident with Kimmel.
