Kimmel/Benoit, Hogan & Trump, Nowinski, More
We had many readers send us word that Jimmy Kimmel's joke about Chris Benoit was left in Comedy Central's airing of the roast for Flavor Flav last night. I actually watched the show (always have been a big fan of the Comedy Central roasts) and was a bit surprised the network left the joke in after network executives seemed to indicate they wouldn't be leaving it in during the live taping of the show a few weeks ago. I must say, of any joke told during the night, it got a very touchy reaction and it was clear the crowd didn't know if it was okay to laugh at it or not. We would like to thank everyone who sent in a note about it on late Sunday night.
SeekingAlpha.com has a story looking at the WWE stock and the company's outlook for the future.
bumfromjersey sent this item. ... I don't know if you saw Outside the Lines on ESPN yesterday morning but they had a story about football and concussions. For experts, they pretty much relied on Chris Nowinski's Sports Legacy Company. They did bring up wrestlers too (besides Nowinski, they did mention Benoit). It's an interesting piece. It's more sports related but wrestling is mentioned with more than a passing glance in the piece.
Former World Class Championship Wrestling referee Bronko Lubich passed away on Sunday.
In the 8/20 edition of Us Weekly magazine, Hulk Hogan decided five celebrity feuds. In the Donald Trump vs. Dina Lohan feud, Hogan sided with Trump as "Dina has set a bad example," stated Hogan. Apparently, Trump said that Lindsey needed "a new set of parents." In the issue, he also settled feuds of Mandy Moore vs. Zach Braff, Lauren Condrad vs. Spencer Pratt, Brian Bunkleman vs. Ryan Seacrest, and Oprah Windrey vs. Nan Talese.
