Triple H - Cena Feud, MMA Site And More
The original plans for WrestleMania 23 was for John Cena to defend the WWE title against Triple H in a babyface vs. babyface match. However, Triple H re-injured his quad and those plans were changed with Shawn Michaels eventually getting the nod to headline the event against Cena.
The plans to have the Triple H – Cena main event for WrestleMania 24 next year also seem to be off the books. WWE is currently building to a Triple H – Randy Orton WWE title match for WrestleMania 24 instead. Apparently Triple H feels that Cena doesn't need the title now to headline on top, and has been pushing for protecting Orton since earlier this summer.
The original plans were for Orton to win the WWE title at SummerSlam, however those plans were changed days before the show. The most likely scenario is for Orton to win the title at No Mercy, and to continue feuding with Cena for the rest of the year before starting his program with Triple H. The timing seems to be working as fans seem to be tiring with Cena as champion.
