The Latest On The Rock, Brock Lesnar And More

The Rock's latest film, The Game Plan, crossed the $70 million mark and seems very likely to hit $100 million, which no film with The Rock in the lead has been able to do domestically. The Rock's most successful film (with him in the lead) is still his first film, The Scorpion King which ended it's domestic run at $90 million. Since then, every film of his has opened at #1 or #2, however was unable to cross $100 million.

Meanwhile, The Rock has confirmed that he has turned down the Spy Hunter movie. Spy Hunter was announced even before The Scorpion King released, and was scheduled to be his next film after The Rundown. John Woo was attached to direct the project. Since then, it has continually been delayed and it seemed doubtful that the film would get made. However last year it was starting to look like the project was back on with The Rock being featured in the Spy Hunter video game.

Speaking of The Scorpion King, former UFC Heavyweight Champion Randy Couture will be playing the lead role (which the Rock turned down) in the sequel to the film. The sequel is titled The Scorpion King: Rise of the Akkadian and will release in 2008.
