MMA Update: Huge UFC Fight Canceled, Sean Sherk, Matt Hughes Re-Signs & More

- FightLine.com is reporting that UFC superstar Matt Hughes has signed a new multi-fight deal with the UFC. At this time, no opponent has been announced for the former welterweight champion's next fight. Hughes last fought at UFC 98, where he defeated rival Matt Serra via unanimous decision.

- Former UFC lightweight champion Sean Sherk has been injured during training and will be forced to pull out of his UFC 104 bout against Gleison Tibau. Sherk's agent, Monte Cox, confirmed that an injured shoulder will keep him out of training for four weeks. UFC veteran Josh Neer will be replacing Sherk at UFC 104.

- FightLine.com is reporting that the Rashad Evans – Quinton "Rampage" Jackson fight scheduled for UFC 107 this December has been scrapped. The main event will now be UFC lightweight champion BJ Penn defending against Diego Sanchez.
