Luke Rockhold Stops Chris Weidman To Win UFC Middleweight Championship
Conor McGregor wasn't the only man to change the landscape of MMA on Saturday night at UFC 194. Luke Rockhold is your new UFC Middleweight Champion, defeating previously undefeated Chris Weidman for the title.
After starting slowly, Luke Rockhold steadily gained momentum. Rockhold both knocked down and took down Weidman for the first time in his MMA career. Weidman refused to die, however, coming back with some sick body kicks that looked like they did some damage to the former Strikeforce Middleweight Champion.

In round three, things got hairy for Weidman, who went for an ill-advised spin kick and was taken down for the first time in his career. Rockhold worked to mount and violently beat the champion with elbows and punches. The fight looked very close to being stopped, but Herb Dean gifted Weidman by allowing it to continue.
Rockhold came back out in the fourth round, implementing the familiar game plan, taking down Weidman and pounding him out until the ref stopped the fight. Following the bout, Rockhold revealed that he had been battling a staph infection int he weeks ahead of the fight.
Rockhold will face Yoel Romero next, who won a controversial decision over Jacare Souza. The UFC landscape is quickly changing, with three big title changes in just under a month,
