10 Finn Balor Matches That WWE Fans Won't Soon Forget

NXT TakeOver: Portland
As a match fueled by bad blood between two of the greatest NXT champions ever, the NXT TakeOver at Portland featured a brutal clash between Finn Balor and Johnny Gargano. The match was loaded with technical wrestling, hard-hitting strikes, and signature moves up until the final Coup de Grace and 1916 that helped Balor win.
SummerSlam 2016
Balor's greatest accomplishment in the main roster came at SummerSlam 2016 when he beat Seth Rollins for the inaugural Universal Championship, although he had to vacate immediately afterward due to a dislocated shoulder. Even after suffering such an injury, Balor finished the match with a Coup de Grace to pick up the victory.
Beast In The East
When competitors from all three brands went to Tokyo for a showcase of the best wrestlers in WWE, one of the highlights was Balor facing the NXT Champion Kevin Owens for the title. A back-and-forth battle ensued as the NXT stars displayed their innovative moves until Balor hit his finisher on Owens to win his first NXT title.
Extreme Rules 2017
The clash between Balor as The Demon and AJ Styles was a well-paced affair that fully exhibited the athletic abilities that both men possessed. They displayed their stamina levels as they weathered everything their opponent threw at them, and finally, The Demon hit the Coup de Grace for a dream match victory.
NXT Super Tuesday II
In a battle to prove who is the greatest NXT superstar of all time, Balor and Adam Cole faced off for the vacant NXT title. After some incredible back-and-forth wrestling, Cole achieved the rare feat of kicking out of Coup de Grace, but in the end, Balor hit Cole with a 1916 DDT off the top rope, earning his second NXT title reign.
