10 Massive WWE PPV Events That Were Extremely Disappointing

WrestleMania IV
WrestleMania IV is considered the first dud in the history of the “Show of Shows” for several reasons, including the Hulk Hogan vs. Andre the Giant rematch ending in a six-minute double-DQ and Greg Valentine defeating Ricky Steamboat. Most importantly, the show was very long and didn’t have any good matches.
WrestleMania IX
WWF’s hesitancy to commit to the new era even after Hulkamania peaked was obvious at WrestleMania IX when Hogan beat Yokozuna for the WWF title minutes after he had won it. Everything except the opener of Shawn Michaels versus Tatanka is rated as average, with a toga-wearing Jim Ross being the only highlight of the show.
King of the Ring 1995
The 1995 edition of the PPV saw an unfortunate attempt to make Mabel a main-event star, resulting in two horrible matches to help him win. Ironically, the best part of the show was the “Kiss My Foot” match between Bret Hart and Jerry Lawler, and disappointed fans started chanting for their local fave ECW several times during the show.
The Great American Bash '04
One of the worst renditions of this PPV saw Eddie Guerrero lose his WWE title to JBL while the undercard was loaded with awful matches. The worst part was that, in the main event, Undertaker beat Dudley Boyz in a “Concrete Crypt” match and buried his manager Paul Bearer in cement to end the horrible night.
December to Dismember '06
This PPV was the last ECW show that WWE ever organized, with every match except the opener being so horrible that Direct TV received numerous complaints and requests for refunds following it. The main event was one of the most underwhelming Elimination Chambers ever, and the ECW creative head, Paul Heyman, was fired after this match.
