Daniel Cormier Compares CM Punk's WWE Return to UFC Hall Of Famer Return
By KIERAN FISHER
The return of CM Punk to WWE at Survivor Series: WarGames shocked the world, including UFC Hall of Famer Daniel Cormier, who immediately thought of MMA star Tito Ortiz.
Speaking about Punk on The MMA Hour, Cormier said "He was like one of the biggest stars in the early days... Probably like a Tito Ortiz type of guy, a guy that left on bad terms."
While Punk left WWE on bad terms and hadn't appeared for them since 2014, Ortiz left UFC in 2008 due to frustrations with the company's president, Dana White.
Punk's WWE return came after AEW fired him due to an alleged backstage confrontation at All In 2023. He has reportedly been on his best behavior since returning to the company.
He's also rumored to enter programs with Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns in the coming months. Furthermore, it's believed that he has a behavioral clause in his contract.
