Facts About Ruby Soho That Only Hardcore Fans Know
By ERICA BANAS
Never Held a WWE title
Despite the quality of her in-ring work, for the five years Soho was in WWE (as Ruby Riott), she didn’t hold one title. She had several matches against defending champs, but couldn’t overcome her opponents, including when she was squashed for the "Raw" Women's Championship by Ronda Rousey.
Last one standing
In the announcement of new recruits of the WWE Performance Center in January 2017, she was photographed with three other women: Kimberly Frankele, MaryKate Duignan Glidewell, and Julia Ho. While Soho was released in June 2021, she lasted much longer than the rest of her recruitment group, who all left in 2018.
BBQ sauce
Recounting memorable moments in her career to “Talk Is Jericho,” she said of the call that WWE was going to sign her to a contract, "You think it's going to be this perfect moment […] I'm eating this hot dog [...] I immediately start running through the bar with BBQ sauce all over my face [yelling] 'I got the job!’ It was not the most glamorous [moment]."
HER favorite moment
Making her 2021 debut in AEW at Casino Battle Royale, it was a memorable moment when Soho won and embraced referee Bryce Remsberg. She told “AEW Unrestricted” that she knew him a long time and he had seen her career advances, adding, “To celebrate that with him in that moment was a memory I will literally cherish forever."
She doesn't really know why
When Soho was released from WWE in June 2021, it was a shock not only to fans but to Soho herself, as she said, "I wish I knew. Like I said, it came as a huge shock to me.” She added she didn’t talk to a lot of people there, so she didn’t get feedback if she was doing something wrong.
