Forgotten Celebrity WWE WrestleMania Appearances That Had People Talking

Alex Trebek
When the “Jeopardy!” host Alex Trebek passed away in 2020, WWE eulogized him for the part he played in WrestleMania VII. Besides his main role as the ring announcer for the championship between Sgt. Slaughter and Hulk Hogan, Trebek also did a few backstage interviews, including the memorable bit with Jake “The Snake” Roberts.
Alice Cooper
By the ‘80s, the rockstar Alice Cooper was at a low point, but he did have a star turn at WrestleMania III when he stepped into the ring with Jimmy Hart. While the skinny, black leather-clad, out-of-shape rocker menaced Hart with Damien — Jake Robert's pet python — Roberts came from behind and grabbed Hart in a full Nelson.
Bob Uecker
At WrestleMania III, former MLB player Bob Uecker gave the play-by-play of Hulk Hogan’s battle with Andre the Giant and also served as a backstage interviewer at WrestleMania IV. Uecker had an uncomfortable behind-the-scenes moment when the former catcher somehow ticked off Andre the Giant, resulting in the big man trying to choke him out.
Cyndi Lauper
In 1984, Rowdy Roddy Piper invited singer Cyndi Lauper to his “Piper’s Pit” episode and brewed trouble between Lauper and her on-screen dad, Lou Albano. The Lauper/Albano rivalry was resolved before WrestleMania I, and instead, Lauper appeared in Hogan’s corner, supporting him against their mutual foe Piper in the inaugural WrestleMania.
Elvira
Elvira (played by Cassandra Peterson) of “Movie Macabre” fame was invited to WrestleMania II to provide a little ringside commentary. While this may be the Mistress of the Dark’s only WrestleMania moment, she helped promote WCW’s Halloween Havoc events in 1989, 1990, and 1991.
