Michael Cole
Is The
Perfect WWE WrestleMania 39 Opponent For Bayley
By COLBY APPLEGATE
While Bayley is known for battling her fellow “NXT” Horsewomen over the years, one of her long-standing enemies is WWE commentator Michael Cole. Since 2020, Bayley has picked on Cole for things she heard him say from the announcer’s desk, and on a recent episode of “The Bump,” she challenged him to a match at WrestleMania.
With WrestleMania 39’s “SmackDown” Women’s Championship match already set, and having been defeated in a feud with “Raw” Women’s Champion Bianca Belair, Bayley likely won’t be involved with those titles. There might not be an open dance card for Bayley in the women’s division — but there might be if Cole steps back into the ring.
Michael Cole is no stranger to over-the-top gimmick matches, having taken part in both a strap match and a “Kiss My Foot” match in 2011, and he's even technically undefeated. Adding Bayley vs. Cole to WrestleMania 39 would conclude a long-term storyline, give Bayley a spot on the card, and help normalize intergender wrestling.
