Randy Orton's 12 Most Entertaining Feuds In WWE
By ALFONSO LOPEZ
12. Batista
In this injury-filled feud in 2009, Randy Orton was able to put the “Animal” down twice in kayfabe in under a year. This not only gave Orton’s run as the top champion a couple of shots of credibility, but it also further cemented Orton’s status as a stone cold killer.
11. Shawn Michaels
In the 2007 Survivor Series, Shawn Michaels faced the WWE Champion Orton in a match that barred HBK from using his signature “Sweet Chin Music” superkick. Although this match only happened because competitors like John Cena and Triple H were injured, the matches with Orton and HBK are truly one of a kind.
10. Daniel Bryan
During Daniel Bryan’s breakout year as the top underdog in 2013, he faced Randy Orton 12 separate times between June 2013 and their triple threat match at WrestleMania in 2014, which also involved Batista. Out of those 12 matches, the best match is a tie between their WM main event and their clash at Hell in a Cell.
9. CM Punk
After Punk cost Orton his shot at the WWE title at the 2011 Royal Rumble, Randy was set to face the leader of New Nexus, Punk, at WrestleMania XXVII. In the weeks leading up to the match, Orton eliminated one member from Punk’s Nexus every week until he faced Punk one-on-one at the “Show of Shows,” defeating his opponent.
8. Christian
During a rare babyface turn in 2011, Orton faced Christian seven times within five months while feuding over the World Heavyweight title. This feud established Christian as the main event star, and their match at Over the Limit earned 4.25 stars from David Meltzer while also serving as the first proper world championship run for Orton.
