Ranking Every CM Punk Title Win From Worst To Best
By TREVOR DAME
13. ROH Tag Team Titles
On May 15, 2004, Round Robin Challenge III saw the clash of the tag teams of The Prophecy (Dan Maff & BJ Whitmer), Second City Saints (Colt Cabana & CM Punk), and the Briscoe Brothers (Jay & Mark) as part of a feud. Each team held the titles once that night, and the Saints defeated the Briscoes in the main event to regain the titles.
12. WWE Tag Team Titles
Punk’s first and only reign as a tag champ in WWE came on October 27, 2008, when Punk and Kofi Kingston defeated Cody Rhodes and Ted Dibiase Jr., but it would be a short run. They held the titles for 47 days before they dropped the championships to John Morrison and the Miz on a house show in Hamilton, Canada.
11. WWE Heavyweight title
Punk used his MITB contract to challenge Jeff Hardy for the WWE World title on the first-ever Extreme Rules on June 7, 2009, right after Hardy’s exhausting ladder match with Edge. Punk snatched the title away from the beloved babyface and started a long feud with Hardy, but the cash-in was not as special as his previous victories.
10. ROH Tag Team Titles
Not to be confused with the previous ROH tag title bout, this match on April 24, 2004, was a lot more special because it was Punk’s first tag title win in ROH, which he won alongside Second City Saints partner Colt Cabana. Punk’s victory provided the feel-good moment the promotion needed after it had been embroiled in a troubling controversy.
9. WWE IC Championship
Punk became a Triple Crown wrestler (winner of the WWE world title, tag titles, and a secondary title) on January 19, 2009, after he defeated William Regal for the IC title on “Raw.” Punk’s victory solidified his place as a Triple Crown wrestler, having collected all three pieces of this achievement within six months.
