The Story Behind The Undertaker And John Cena’s Brief, Non-Promoted Wrestlemania
34 Match
By ROBERT GUNIER
During their respective runs in WWE, The Undertaker and John Cena crossed paths on several occasions, but their final encounter at WrestleMania 34 left a lot to be desired. After losing to Roman Reigns at the previous Wrestlemania, it was unclear if The Undertaker would return for one final match, and if John Cena would be a part of it.
At Wrestlemania 34, it seemed that The Undertaker wouldn’t participate despite John Cena challenging him, but that suddenly changed halfway through the event. The Undertaker made his slow entrance into the ring and proceeded to beat Cena in under three minutes, a move that baffled the audience.
In The Undertaker’s “Last Ride” documentary, he revealed that he had been training for a lengthy match, but time constraints forced him to keep it short. Reports claimed that the match was shortened due to concerns over The Undertaker’s physical capabilities in the ring, which were prevalent in his match against Reigns at WrestleMania 33.
