Triple H Won Chris Jericho's Eternal Respect With This WWE Match
By SEAN NEUMANN
Although he's "not Triple H's biggest Fan," Chris Jericho's perspective of The Game changed forever after one match on "Raw." Jericho called the match for the WWF Tag Team title between himself, Chris Benoit, Steve Austin, and Triple H a "classic moment in pro wrestling history," mainly because Triple H pushed through one of the worst injuries he's ever had.
On his podcast, Jericho recalled, "The finish of the match was going to be that a bunch of different things happen," but then Triple H tore his quad moments before going into the end of the match. Y2J remembered, "Suddenly he's gone," adding, "he's there saying like, 'I think I tore my quad.' And I was like, 'What?!"
When HHH agreed to go through with The Walls of Jericho, Y2J recalls "turning him over onto this table and just hearing this 'Ahh!' – this real grunt of true pain." After pushing through the finish, they found out HHH would be out for six months, and Jericho concluded, "this guy earned my eternal respect by just how tough he was."
