Wrestlers Who Got Into Fights With Fans

In 2009, Chris Jericho got physical with fans after a house show, with WWE stating that Jericho was provoked by the fans while asking them to get away from his car. At an AEW tour show in July 2021, Jericho was making his entrance when a fan walked up the ramp and removed his shirt, and Jericho got a few shots in before security swept him away.

After the June 15, 1998 edition of "Nitro," Paul Wight retreated to a Marriott Hotel where he was pestered by an intoxicated man named Robert Sawyer. Wight tried defusing the situation, but when Sawyer pushed him, Wight responded with a punch that broke his jaw; in court, Sawyer was found to be the instigator after viewing CCTV footage.

During MTV's Spring Break program in March 1997, pro wrestler Syxx shot paint into the crowd, and in response, a fan threw a rock onto the stage, striking Kevin Nash in the head. Nash ran into the crowd and grabbed the fan but let him go after realizing he was a teenager — Nash was later ordered by a court to give the teenager $1 and a written apology.

Triple H took on "Stone Cold" Steve Austin in a 1998 WWF live event in Berlin, and during the event, a fan jumped into the ring and assaulted Austin. Triple H took the fan down, unloading punches onto the fan and calling for security while referee Mike Chioda stomped him down.

Randy Orton defeated Big E in Cape Town in July 2013, and while he was celebrating, a local kickboxer named Tshepo Sekhabi entered the ring and struck him. Orton, likely believing it to be an angle, pretended to be hurt by the attack but quickly hit the attacker after realizing what was happening.
