Re-Post: WWE SmackDown Results (With Video)

- SmackDown begins with a video package hyping tonight's return of Randy Orton to confront the Shield, plus Del Rio-Big Show.

- We go to the arena, Randy Orton's music hits and he comes down to the ring with a beard and a new t-shirt.

He says since this is the 1st show of the new year he has a resolution that he will be the World Champion. He says SmackDown used to be his shown but lately that hasn't been the case. He announces his entry to the Royal Rumble. Sheamus' music hits and he comes to the ring.

Sheamus apologizes for interrupting him but he says that he also wants to be champion and announces himself as an entrant in the Rumble also. He also thanks Orton for helping him with The Shield on Monday. Orton says they put him out and he did that for himself. Sheamus says he was the one who won the Rumble last year and Orton says it will make it that much more sweet to win. Sheamus threatens him as Orton glares at him with a smirk and The Big Show's music hits and he comes to the stage with his title on his shoulder.

He says that if either of them wins the Rumble they will get a shot at his fist not the title. Show says he a giant and the most dominant champion the world has ever seen. Antonio Cesaro's music comes out and says that it's like typical Americans to just talk. Sheamus reminds him that he is not American. Cesaro continues to rundown Americans and Orton threatens to RKO the both of them. Booker T's music hits and he comes out to make a match. He makes Big Show & Cesaro vs. Sheamus & Orton.

- We see a graphic for Wade Barrett vs. Kofi Kingston for later tonight.

- A promo runs for the Rock's return on RAW this Monday.

- Back from a break as The Miz makes his entrance. 3MB come to the ring and Heath Slater is announced. We see footage of their encounter with Miz on RAW from last month.

The Miz vs. Heath Slater

Miz hits an early dropkick then takes Slater down with a headlock. Slater tries to comeback but Miz goes back to the headlock. Slater reverses it and Miz slams him down on the back of his head. Jinder Mahal gets on the apron and Miz struts and plays air-guitar and pokes Slater in the eyes behind the ref's back. Miz resumes control and hits a shoulderblock and a big knee. Drew McIntyre trips Miz from the floor but Miz takes him out with a dropkick to the back from inside the ring. He also takes out Mahal when he gets on the apron. Slater hits Miz from behind with a shot to the face. The ref ejects Drew and Jinder from ringside and Miz rolls up Slater from behind for 2. Slater goes outside for a breather as we go to commercial.

- Slater unloads on Miz with punches as we return. Miz hits a takedown and mounts him with punches. Slater ducks out of the ring and Miz goes and hits him with a running clothesline. Miz gets cheers and Miz plays to them. Miz drops Slater across the security wall and sends him back in. Slater comes back with a kick to the knee and sends Miz shoulder-first into the post. The crowd chants, "Awesome." Miz works his way up but Slater slams him back down for 2. The crowd chants "Let's go Miz" and he rolls Slater up for 2.

Slater hits a big knee to the face and gets another near-fall. Slater continues to keep the pressure on. Slater plays his air-guitar and works Miz' left arm. Miz comes back and lands a big kick to the head for 2. Slater again turns the tables in the corner and works the left arm. Miz fights up and gets out with a side suplex. The ref counts both men and they trade shots on their knees as they get up. Miz hits a flurry and does more call-and-response with the crowd. Slater counters Miz and hits a big neckbreaker for 2. Miz lands his patented clothesline in the corner and goes up top for a chop. Miz hits the Skull Crushing Finale for the pin.

- We return to an outside shot of the arena in Richmond, VA. We go to footage of Wade Barrett's win over Kofi this past Monday.

- Matt Striker is standing by with Barrett in the back. Striker wants to take us back to Main Event this past Wednesday but Barrett interrupts and says the media always needs a scandal but he is the Intercontinental Champion and that is all that matters. He says when he defeats Kofi again tonight, it is his last chance.

- We go to the ring as The Great Khali comes out with Natalya and Hornswoggle. We see footage of Mae Young giving birth to Hornswoggle on RAW. I can't believe I just typed that. The trio dances in the ring as we go to break.

The Great Khali, Natalya & Hornswoggle vs. Primo, Epico & Rosa Mendes

Rosa pie-faces Natalya to begin things and Natalya repeatedly drives her face into the mat. Rosa tags Epico and Natalya tags Khali. Epico runs and tags Primo in fear. Khali brings Epico in over the top and takes over with chops to the chest. Khali tags Hornswoggle in for some chops too. Hornswoggle hits Stunners on both Primo and Epico but Primo hits him with a shoulderblock. They continue to dominate Hornswoggle. Hornswoggle comes back and slips under Epico to tag Khali. Primo jumps in and Khali takes care of him too. Khali hits a big chop the head of Primo for the win.

- Striker asks Kofi if his win on Wednesday over Barrett has given him any momentum going into tonight. Kofi says this is not about momentum. This might be his last shot and he's got his back against the wall but he's used to that. He says Wade will run into Trouble in Paradise.

WWE Intercontinental Championship: Wade Barrett (c) vs. Kofi Kingston

JBL puts over the Intercontinental Title nicely and with passion and here we go. They feel each other out and Kofi gets the early takedown for a quick cover. Kofi hits a series of dropkicks and Barrett goes out to regroup. Kofi follows with some punishment on the floor and gets a near fall back in the ring. Barrett sends Kofi hard into the corner to turn things around. Barrett hits punches to Kofi's ribs and hits a big clothesline for 2. Kofi does a backslide for 2. Kofi does an inside cradle for another 2. Barrett hits a back kick and charges in but Kofi pulls the rope down and Barrett falls to the floor. Kofi flies over the top onto Barrett. Barrett overtakes Kofi and sends him back in but just keeps letting the ref count him out since he can't lose his title from a count-out. Kofi goes and brings Barrett in at "9" as we go to commercial.

- Barrett hits a big clothesline in the ring as we return to action. Barrett hits a big elbow off the 2nd turnbuckle for 2. Barrett hits a vicious boot to the face of Kofi, sending him to the floor. Kofi makes it back in the ring and Barrett keeps the pressure on. Barrett puts Kofi up top but Kofi fights him off and flies off with a crossbody for 2. Both men get up and trade shots. Kofi ducks in the corner for a kick to the head and hits the S.O.S for 2. Kofi lands the Boom Drop but Barrett ducks the Trouble In Paradise. Kofi does a backslide and they exchange near-falls. Kofi hits the TIP but Barrett rolls out of the ring. Kofi tries to bring the dead weight back in the ring but Barrett grabs the bottom rope at 2. Barrett gets a big boot up in the corner and pulls down his elbow pad. Kofi ducks the elbow and comes off the 2nd buckle but Barrett catches him in mid-air with it for the win.

Barrett points to his elbow after a replay and celebrates in the ring. Kofi is still down.

Layla vs. Tamina

They lock up and Layla gets knocked to the floor. Tamina goes out and slams Layla on the security wall and brings her back in. Tamina continues to dominate. Layla fights back with kicks and a big faceplant. Tamina catches Layla and hits a Samoan Drop. Tamina hits a Superfly Splash for the win.

- A RAW Rebound is shown.

- We see a graphic for Punk vs. Ryback in a TLC match and also the Rock's return for this Monday on RAW.

- The Big Show makes his entrance as we go to a break.

- Antonio Cesaro comes to the ring. Randy Orton comes out followed by Sheamus.

Sheamus & Randy Orton vs. The Big Show & Antonio Cesaro

Cesaro locks up with Sheamus and hits a shoulderblock off the ropes. They go again and Sheamus answers with his own and hits another one. Orton tags and drops Cesaro in a suplex for 2. Orton with a clothesline out of the corner tags Sheamus. Cesaro hits an elbow out of the corner but Sheamus fights back with punches and a shoulderblock. Orton's back in with mounted shots in the corner on Cesaro. Back to Sheamus. Show tags himself in off Cesaro's back and keeps Sheamus down. Show goes to slap Orton off the apron but Orton drops to the floor first. Sheamus and Orton clothesline Show out of the ring as we take a break.

- Sheamus fights off Cesaro in the ring and hits his forearm spot in the ropes. Sheamus brings Cesaro back in with a suplex from the apron and gets 2. Show comes in with a spear on Sheamus. Show slams Sheamus and connects with an elbowdrop for 2. Sheamus comes back but Show catches him in a chokeslam for 2. Sheamus ducks the KO Punch and lands a Brogue Kick on Show. Orton and Cesaro tag in and Orton unloads on him. Sheamus tags back in unbeknownst to Orton and hits White Noise on Cesaro. Orton just stares at the floor on the floor. Sheamus calls for the end and Orton runs in to hit the RKO on Cesaro. Orton slips out and has a stare-down with Sheamus. Sheamus makes the cover on Cesaro for the win.

We see a replay and Sheamus applauds Orton from inside the ring as we go off the air.
