WWE NXT Recap: Bo Dallas Banner Raising, CJ Parker Vs. Cesaro, Rusev Vs. Woods, More

This week's episode of NXT opens with Byron Saxton, Tom Phillips, and Tensai welcoming everyone via commentary. They say that tonight will be a celebration of Bo Dallas's championship reign.

Then, they pass things over to Eden, who is doing the ring announcing for the evening. Adrian Neville makes his entrance.

Adrian Neville vs. Wesley Blake

This is Blake's debut. They circle each other. They exchange wristlocks. Neville fights out of Blake's and slams Blake face first to the mat. Neville locks in a side headlock and takes Blake down. Blake shoves him off, but Neville lands a shoulder tackle. He arm drags Blake and keeps his arm locked in. Blake backs Neville to the corner to break the hold. Neville counters with a backdrop. He goes up top. Neville leaps off and hits a missile dropkick. He takes Blake to the corner and lands a chop. Blake stumbles to another corner and the crowd chants one more time.

Neville goes for another, but Blake kicks him and the crowd boos. He drives his shoulder into Neville's gut in the corner. Blake lands an uppercut. Neville fights back with strikes. He lands a pair of flying forearms. He dropkicks Blake in the head. Neville goes up top and hits the corkscrew shooting star press for the win.

Winner: Adrian Neville

Then, Devin Taylor is backstage. She welcomes Summer Rae, Sasha Banks, and Charlotte. Taylor brings up Charlotte attacking Bayley the last time we saw her, and asks where she's been. Charlotte says that thanks to Sasha and Summer she has been enjoying the benefits of being a BBF like limos and jets. She doesn't understand why Taylor has so many questions about Bayley. She says no one cares about the cat lady, and life isn't about hugs and headbands. Life is vicious and it will knock you down if you let it. She dropped the nobody and joined the somebodies.

Summer Rae says that 2014 is the year of the BFFs and it starts with her match later against Natalya. She will destroy the diva, if you can call her a diva.

Back from commercial and Xavier Woods comes out.

Xavier Woods vs. Alexander Rusev (with Lana)

Rusev backs Xavier to the corner. Xavier slips out and kicks Rusev in the leg. He chops Rusev. Rusev whips him into the corner. Xavier hits a dropkick. Rusev smacks Xavier in the head. He gets on top of Xavier and clubs him multiple times in the face. Rusev sends Xavier into the corner and kicks him repeatedly. He kicks Xavier in the chest and gets a two count. Rusev locks in Xavier's wrist. Xavier fights back with head strikes. He hits Rusev with a kick to the gut and a dropkick. Xavier hits a running knee to the head for a two count. He clubs Rusev in the back and head. Rusev comes back with a kick to the mid section. He locks in the accolade and Woods taps immediately.

Winner: Alexander Rusev

Lana orders Rusev to lock Xavier back in the submission after the match, which he does. Sin Cara runs down to the ring and hits Rusev with a hurricanrana. Sin Cara helps Xavier out of the ring as Rusev stares after them angrily.

CJ Parker vs. Antonio Cesaro

They lock up. Parker backs Cesaro to the corner. Cesaro locks in Parker's arm. Parker reverses. He tries to slam back first into Cesaro, but Cesaro puts his knees up. Cesaro kicks Parker in the back. He backdrops Parker behind him. Cesaro locks in Parker's head from behind. Parker gets out and kicks Cesaro in the chest. He hits Cesaro with a clothesline and a heel kick. Parker charges Cesaro and hits a leaping knee to the chest. Parker goes up top and lands a crossbody. He picks Cesaro up on his shoulders and airplane spins him. Parker sets Cesaro down and stumbles around, but Cesaro is fine and pops his neck. Parker turns around and Cesaro hits him with the Cesaro swing. Cesaro lands the neutralizer for the win.

Winner: Antonio Cesaro

After the match, Sami Zayn walks out on the stage with a crutch. He says that 2014 is off to a rocky start. He says that he has a medical issue, so it has given him a chance to think about 2013, which was one of the best in his career. He says that it was such a great year thanks to the matches he had in NXT. He singles out his 2 out of 3 falls match against Cesaro as his best one. Zayn says that match was the one blemish on an otherwise great year, and he needs to fix it. He challenges Cesaro to a rematch. The crowd chants yes. Cesaro leaves the ring and walks up to Zayn. He takes his mic, says no, and walks off.

Back from commercial, and Devin Taylor welcomes the Miz. She asks how it feels to be at NXT. He says it's awesome. He is feeling saucy, and that he may have to do an episode of MizTV. Parker walks up upset, saying that he is bummed out that everyone keeps booing him. Miz says he can see why, and Parker asks why he means. Miz says really and Taylor walks off. Miz says that Parker just interrupted the most must see superstar of all time, and that's disrespectful. Parker says he is spewing all kinds of toxic waste, and to consider this an environmental act. He slaps Miz and walks off. Miz stares after him.

Things head back to the commentary booth, and Renee Young is now on it.

Natalya (with Bayley) vs. Summer Rae (with Sasha Banks)

Natalya locks in a side headlock. She takes Summer to the mat. Summer counters into a head scissors. Natalya gets out. She tries for a backslide, but Summer backs her into the corner. Natalya lands a back elbow. She snap mares Summer, steps on the back of her neck, and dropkicks her in the head. Summer comes back with a roundhouse heel kick. She locks in Natalya's legs. Natalya counters into a submission, and Summer gets to the ropes. Summer lands a back elbow. She sets Natalya's foot on the ropes and drops onto it. She tries again, and Natalya sends her outside. Summer freaks out and gets back inside.

Natalya drop toe holds her and hits a vertical Suplex. She clotheslines Summer. Natalya whips her, and Summer kicks her. Summer ducks a discus clothesline attempt. She goes for a heel kick, but Natalya grabs her leg and locks in the sharpshooter. Summer taps.

Winner: Natalya

Then, Devin Taylor is backstage with Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady. She asks for an update on Enzo's injury, and he says that before he broke his leg he liked to live life on the edge. As it turns out, that's rough, so he is going to jump. He says that the difference between him and other people is that he can fly. Taylor asks when we can expect him back, and he says he just answered that question; he doesn't get it. Cassady says what Enzo is trying to say (while clapping hand down on Enzo's hurt leg) is that he's making a full recovery and will be back in no time.

Aiden English walks up and says that he doesn't know why Taylor is wasting her time with those two Neanderthals. He tells Taylor to leave, and she does. English says he beat Cassady in a match, and he considers their singing contest a draw after Cassady mysteriously tripped and fell. Cassady says that English keeps taking cheap shot after cheap shot, and that he's surprised English hasn't gone home with the ugly girl from the bar.

English says he will take the time to show how good of a singer he is, and starts warming up his voice. Cassady says absolutely not and walks off. Enzo goes to drive away on his motor cart and runs over English's foot.

Back from commercial and Bo Dallas comes down to the ring. He has been NXT champion for 224 days, making him the longest reigning NXT champion ever.

Dallas thanks the people for his ovation, and says that the crowd's reaction to the champion is why they are celebrating his reign tonight. He says that when the crowd chants let's go Bo, it gives him strength and puts him to bed at night like a warm blanket. He says that tonight, NXT officials have decided to celebrate his reign. He didn't ask for it, but it's a great honor and he accepts. He thanks his third cousin Charles in the audience, his sister's college roommate, and his fifth grade history teach Mrs. Ellie. He thanks all of his Bolievers, and dedicates tonight's banner raising to them.

Dallas signals and a Bo Dallas banner drops down from the ceiling. Adrian Neville comes out and walks down to the ring. Dallas says he's guessing Neville wants to be the first to congratulate him. Neville says no, he has come out to the ring on behalf of everyone there and the whole of the WWE to tell him to shut up. Neville says that Dallas may think he has the privilege to come out and annoy everybody, but he's there to tell him that he's going to take that privilege from around his waist.

Dallas says that Neville already earned a title shot, and he did it by beating a nobody. It took him 4:45 to beat a nobody. Dallas says that he is a champion, and it wouldn't take him that long to beat him, so what Neville is saying is crazy and pointless.

Triple H appears on the screen and says that they both make great points, and that maybe they need him to settle the dispute. He talks about their points, and says he is going to give them both an opportunity to step up. If Adrian Neville can last 4:45 without Bo Dallas beating him, then he will receive an NXT title rematch on the live edition of NXT on February 27th on the WWE Network

Bo Dallas vs. Adrian Neville

Dallas charges Neville. Neville moves. Dallas charges again. Neville moves again. Neville tosses Dallas across the ring. Neville tosses Dallas outside. Dallas grabs Neville and trips him. He pulls Neville outside. Neville slips back inside. He jumps to the apron and kicks Dallas. Dallas pulls the ring skirt, which sends Neville crashing to the floor. Neville gets back in at the ref's nine count. Dallas unloads on Neville with right hands. He hits Neville with a vertical Suplex. Dallas drops a knee on Neville. He elbows Neville in the corner. Dallas hits a body slam. He hits Neville with a trio of back elbows. He goes for a clothesline, but Neville ducks and hits a kick to the leg. Neville lands more kicks. He hits a pair of flying forearms and a dropkick to the head. Neville goes up top, but Dallas rolls out of the ring. Neville drops down into the ring. Dallas gets back in and charges Neville. Neville backdrops him to the outside and then gets out of the other side of the ring. Dallas gives chase as the time expires.

Winner and number one contender: Adrian Neville

After the match, Dallas tries to attack Neville, but Neville sends him into the turnbuckle. Neville goes up top and hits Dallas with the corkscrew shooting star press. He grabs the NXT championship and stands above Dallas as the show ends.
