UFC Fight Night 44 Results: Cub Swanson Takes Main Event Over Jeremy Stephens

Cub Swanson cemented his status as a future contender to the UFC featherweight title with a decision victory over Jeremy Stephens Saturday night in the main event of UFC Fight Night 44. Swanson has now won six straight fights, tying division champion Jose Aldo for the best mark.

Aldo and Chad Mendes will square off later this year in a rematch, leaving Swanson to face the winner if the UFC decides to give him that chance. He has previously fought both in the WEC, including a TKO loss to Aldo.

In other action, Kelvin Gastelum scored a decision over Nico Musoke, Cezar Ferreira downed Andrew Craig, Ricardo Lamas topped Hacran Dias, Clint Hester bested Antonio Braga Neto and Joe Ellenberger defeated James Moontasri.

Swanson and Stephens were given the "Fight of the Night," with "Performance of the Night" bonuses going to Ray Borg and Carlos Diego Ferreira. All four earned $50,000 at a card that drew a live gate of $728,358 with an attendance of 9,227.
