Quinton "Rampage" Jackson And Michael Bisping Turn Back The Clock At UFC 186

We'll not try to pretend Quinton "Rampage" Jackson is the easiest guy to deal with. He's professed his distaste for UFC, Bellator, Pride, Reebok, Mike Dolce, Juanito Ibarra, TNA Wrestling– really anybody he doesn't make money with at the time. Regardless, there's something special about him the projects a big fight feel, and the UFC was thrilled to have him back.

That big fight feel was thrown into serious question over the past month as a court injunction looked to prevent Jackson from competing at this weekend's UFC 186 bout. Fortunately for him, the injunction was overturned, and he was cleared to take on top-15 ranked Fabio Maldonado.

Jackson dominated the fight from bell-to-bell, using technical striking to handle Fabio Maldonado over the course of 15 minutes. It looked like Maldonado was trying to wear the former UFC champion out, but the tactic didn't pay off. With Jackson not worrying about the threat of the takedown his striking looked as good as it has in recent years.

It remains unclear as to who the UFC has in mind for future opponents for Jackson, but it's likely that the company will continue matching him up with strikers in fan-friendly bouts. Shogun Rua and Dan Henderson are both possibilities down the line.

Elsewhere on the show, Michael Bisping and CB Dolloway were featured in a fantastic bout, which saw Bisping show no signs of aging on his way to a victory. Bisping pledged to become UFC champion after nearly a decade in the promotion.
