Backstage News On Why The Miz Beat Dolph Ziggler On WWE RAW, WrestleMania Plans

As seen on WWE Monday Night RAW last night, The Miz defeated Dolph Ziggler in a little over a minute. Dave Meltzer said on Wrestling Observer Radio that the victory was because The Miz is involved in a key match at WrestleMania.

Meltzer noted that Ziggler is also involved in the match, which will be a multiple person match. Apparently it was felt that The Miz needed the win more than Ziggler. Meltzer said that he wasn't sure what the match was for, although he speculated that it might be for the Intercontinental Championship.

If that is indeed the case, it would be the second year in a row that the Intercontinental Championship was defended in a multiple person match. At WrestleMania 31, Daniel Bryan defeated then-Intercontinental Champion Bad News Barrett, R-Truth, Dean Ambrose, Luke Harper, Dolph Ziggler, and Stardust in a six-man ladder match to win the title.
