Vince Russo Explains How He Would Have Booked The Breakup Of The Club On Monday Night Raw

Last night's Monday Night Raw saw the breakup of the short-lived AJ Styles-led Club group, an offshoot of the Bullet Club. The in-ring promo was a little awkward to say the least, and didn't get much of a reaction from the crowd.

After the promo, AJ Styles was beaten clean by Kevin Owens, his fourth clean loss in under two months. On the Wrestling Inc. Podcast, former WWE writer Vince Russo explains how he would have done things differently, and why.

"Between those guys, they got nobody over. Maybe Owens. Let me explain how simple this is. You have the in-ring, AJ breaks up the marriage, these guys aren't happy about it. They beat the living crap out of AJ. They have to stretcher AJ out. Now Owens starts telling the ring announcer to count to ten and raise his hand. We go to commercial break, we come back mid-count, Owens is eating this up and here comes AJ Styles, Spirit of '76. The announcers are putting it over like a million bucks," Russo says.

Russo goes on to say that AJ Styles fighting back after the beating he sustained would have helped all involved.

"Not only did he take a beating by those two guys, lets not forget the match with Roman Reigns. Is AJ Styles kidding me? Styles fights the match from underneath, everything he's got and Owens beats him because of everything that just happened. You get (Gallows and Anderson) over for laying AJ out, you get the heart and spirit of AJ Styles over, and you get Owens over for beating a beaten guy. Everybody wins. The way they did it made absolutely no sense whatsoever," said Russo.
