Georges St-Pierre Leading Union Charge, UFC 208 Bout Announced, Demetrious Johnson Promo

- This coming Saturday night, UFC flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson will defend his title against the winner of The Ultimate Fighter 24. The bout headlines the FOX Sports 1 card.

Johnson is the only fighter to hold the belt, defending it eight times. With a win Saturday, he'll tie Georges St-Pierre for second-most title defenses in the UFC and move just one behind Anderson Silva.

- Georges St-Pierre and others have promised a "re-defining" announcement on Wednesday. MMAFighting.com received a press release detailing that St-Pierre will be joined by Cain Velasquez, T.J. Dillashaw, Donald Cerrone, Tim Kennedy and former Bellator president Bjorn Rebney for a conference call.

In an interesting note, GSP, Velasquez, Dillasaw and Kennedy – three of which are current UFC fighters – are represented by Creative Artists Agency. CAA is a rival to new UFC owner WME-IMG.

- UFC 208 has a first bout, as Glover Teixeira is set to face Jimi Manuwa. FloCombat first reported the bout for the January 21 event from the Honda Center in Anaheim.

Teixeira (25-5) saw his three-fight win streak come to an end at the hands of Anthony Johnson in August, as the former title contender was knocked out. Manuwa (16-2) has gone 2-2 over his last four, but scored a convincing finish of Ovince Saint Preux this past October.
