Another UFC Champion Calls Out Conor McGregor, "UFC Gdansk" Media Day Staredowns, Amanda Nunes Note

- The stars of UFC Gdansk squared off after Thursday's media day in a video you can watch above. Headlined by a welterweight bout between Donald Cerrone and Darren Till, UFC Gdansk will broadcast live on UFC Fight Pass with the main card starting at 3 p.m. ET. With a win, Cerrone would tie Michael Bisping for the all-time record for most UFC wins with 20.

- UFC bantamweight champion Cody Garbrandt had some words for Conor McGregor when he joined ESPN's Five Rounds podcast recently. Garbrandt discussed the prospect of a boxing match with McGregor and said he's confident in his ability to knock out the Irishman:

"I'll go in there and knock Conor the f**k out in a boxing ring, just to be honest," Garbrandt said. "There's no difference, southpaw, orthodox, that guy could come out and fight on his hands for all I give a f**k. I would knock him out, that's it. I have the best boxing in the game, in the UFC, and I'm ready to showcase it on another level."

Garbrandt will look to make his first title defense at UFC 217 on Nov. 4 against former bantamweight champ T.J. Dillashaw.

- UFC women's bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes attended the Women's Sports Foundation 38th Annual Salute to Women in Sports awards gala at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City on Wednesday night. Nunes, the first openly-gay champion in UFC history, attended the gala with her longtime girlfriend and fellow UFC fighter Nina Ansaroff. She posted a photo from the red carpet on Twitter:
