AEW Collision Spoilers: Former Women's World Champion Returns To Action
Willow Nightingale made history on the AEW Revolution pay-per-view when she became the first woman to defend two titles on the same show. During Zero Hour, she successfully defended her TBS Championship against Lena Kross. Following the match, she suffered an attack from Kross' tag team partner, Megan Bayne. This would affect Nightingale later in the night when she and Harley Cameron defended – and lost – their women's tag titles.
During "Dynamite", Nightingale made an open challenge for tonight's episode of "Collision". Nightingale stated she "wanted to face the best. I want to wrestle the very best and knowing our roster, it shouldn't be too hard to find." Since the show was filmed after "Dynamite", the woman who answered the open challenge was quickly revealed on social media to be none other than Hikaru Shida.
Shida is one of AEW's very best as she is the only 3-time AEW Women's World Champion. She splits her time between the U.S. and Japan, where she wrestles and acts. Shida also experienced visa issues and was able to return to the U.S. in October 2025. She also reportedlysigned a contract extension. Her last match in AEW was against Kris Statlander on the November 20, 2024 episode of "Dynamite". When AEW was in Orlando this past January, Shida was reportedly backstage.
Wrestling Inc. will have coverage of tonight's special Thursday night edition of "Collision".
