WWE NXT Results 7/7 - NXT Women's Title On The Line, Two Number One Contenders Matches

Kendal Grey will be putting the NXT Women's Championship on the line for the first time since dethroning Lola Vice at "NXT" The Great American Bash on June 28 as she defends against Nattie. The two women encountered one another in a brief verbal confrontation during last Tuesday's edition of "NXT" in "NXT" General Manager Robert Stone's office as Nattie's allies Layla Diggs, Karmen Petrovic, and reigning EVOLVE Women's Champion Nikkita Lyons stood by Nattie's side.

Speaking of Diggs, she will be competing in a match of her own as she squares off against Izzi Dame of The Culling, Thea Hail, and Lizzy Rain in a Number One Contenders Match for the Women's North American Championship. The NXT Women's North American Championship is currently held by Zaria, who most recently defended her title against Tatum Paxley at The Great American Bash.

Another Number One Contender's Match is set for tonight, as DarkState's Osiris Griffin and Cutler James, Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo and Uriah Connors of BirthRight, Sean Legacy and Dorian Van Dux, and OTM's Bronco Nima and Lucien Price square off against one another to determine who will be the next challengers for Vanity Project's Brad Baylor and Ricky Smokes for the NXT Tag Team Championship. DarkState, BirthRight, OTM, and Legacy made it clear that they wanted a shot at the NXT Tag Team Championship last Tuesday in the aforementioned Stone's office, with Van Dux being revealed as Legacy's tag team partner that same night when he explained to Legacy he had somehow gotten lost. While Romeo Moreno and Noam Dar were also present in Stone's office, Stone told Moreno that he had to build up his resume before himself and Dar could get a title shot.

Additionally, Shiloh Hill will be going head-to-head with Niko Vance of The Culling in singles competition.

We are live! Vic Joseph and Booker T greet audiences at home as Kali Armstrong is waiting in the ring.

Armstrong says she has something to say and says last Tuesday was crazy. She says she saw Kendal Grey win the NXT Women's Championship at The Great American Bash and hear all the fans chant that Grey deserves it, but says all that went through her mind was her next target. She says she's heard it all in the locker room and people cry about not getting opportunities, but says she's also seen people blow their opportunities and says she creates opportunity.

Armstrong says everyone knows it's a matter of when she runs the "NXT" women's division and says she's ready for the NXT Women's Championship, but Lola Vice's music cuts off Armstrong and she makes her way out.

Vice says Armstrong thinks she did something because she jumped Grey, then says she sees Armstrong as being impatient for doing so. She says she still wants her NXT Women's Championship match and says she's next in line for a title shot.

Kelani Jordan's music hits and she makes her way out. She says neither Armstrong or Vice aren't entitled to a NXT Women's Championship match and says she beat Tatum Paxley last Tuesday, but no one is talking about her because everyone is concerned about Paxley. Jordan says the conversation as to who has the next shot at the NXT Women's Championship revolves around her and shoves Vice when Vice begins to run her mouth.

Vice and Jordan exchange forearms with one another, but Armstrong levels Vice and Jordan with a double shoulder tackle.

DarkState then makes their way to the ring. OTM, Sean Legacy and Dorian Van Dux, and BirthRight follow. 

Osiris Griffin, Uriah Connors, Bronco Nima, and Legacy begin the action. The bell rings and Legacy brawls with Griffin as Nima goes at it with Connors. Nima and Griffin deliver bodyslams to Connors and Legacy, then shove one another and look to level one another with shoulder tackles. Legacy delivers an arm drag to Connors, but Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo tags in.

Griffin levels Stacks and Connors with a double clothesline, but Nima lands a shoulder tackle on Griffin and sends Stacks crashing into the corner spine first. Van Dux tags in and delivers a leg drop to Stacks, then goes for a pin but Stacks kicks out. Cutler James tags in, but Van Dux levels him with a dropkick and sends Stacks crashing into the mat face first.

We see Saquon Shugars watching the action from backstage and leave his pot as Nima sends Stacks crashing into the mat. He sends Van Dux crashing into the corner spine first and tags out to Lucien Price. Price chokeslams Stacks on top of Van Dux and pins Van Dux, but James breaks the fall. Legacy and Van Dux then send James crashing into the mat, and Legacy delivers a kick to James' chest before landing a double standing moonsault on him with Van Dux.

Legacy rocks Price with a kick to him in the corner, but James levels Legacy with a pop-up uppercut and whips Legacy into the corner. He fires off shoulders on his midsection and tags out to Griffin. James whips Legacy over to Griffin for Griffin to land a boot on Legacy and pins him, but Connors (who has tagged back in) breaks the fall. Stacks then tags back in and sends Griffin crashing into the ring post shoulder first with Connors. The BirthRight members then rain down right hands on Legacy.

Back from the break, Stacks levels Legacy with a clothesline. Griffin runs over Stacks with a clothesline and tags out to James. James and Griffin land a double backbreaker on Legacy and send him crashing into Stacks in the corner. Price levels James with a boot, but Stacks looks to fly off the ropes to level Price. Price intercepts Stacks with a right hand to his spine.

Van Dux tags in and levels Griffin (who has also tagged in) with a kick. Nima (who has tagged in on his corner) delivers an Airplane Spin backbreaker to him, then sends Connors (the legal man for his team) crashing into the mat chest first and delivers an over the shoulder slam to Van Dux. He goes for a pin, but Van Dux kicks out.

Stacks tags in, and Connors delivers a springboard stunner for Nima. Stacks delivers an elbow to Nima off the top rope and goes for a pin, but Van Dux breaks the fall and Griffin delivers a boot to take out Van Dux. Price rocks James with a back elbow and clotheslines Griffin out of the ring, but Price and Nima clothesline James out of the ring. Inside the ring, Connors tags in and double teams on Van Dux with Stacks. He pins Van Dux, but Van Dux kicks out and delivers a moonsault off the middle rope as Legacy lands one off the adjacent middle rope to take out OTM and DarkState on the outside.

Connors flies off the top rope with a Swanton Bomb to level Van Dux, Legacy, OTM, BirthRight, and James. Griffin delivers a dive through the middle rope to level everyone on the outside, but Shugars appears in the crowd. Dion Lennox runs out to the ring to make sure Shugars stays in the crowd, allowing OTM to send the distracted Griffin and James crashing into the ring steps.

Inside the ring, OTM sends Connors crashing into the mat spine first. Dempsey and King pull Price out of the ring and brawl with Price and Nima all the way to the back. Van Dux lands a Frog Splash on Connors in the ring, and Legacy follows it up with a 450 Splash for the win.

Winners (and new Number One Contenders): Sean Legacy and Dorian Van Dux

Back at ringside, Tank Ledger makes his way to the ring. Keanu Carver follows. 

The bell rings and Carver sends Ledger crashing into the corner spine first. He fires off a few right hands on him, but Ledger whips Carver into the corner and lands a splash on him. He fires off back elbows on Carver, but Carver runs over Ledger with a big boot.

Ledger delivers a crossbody to Carver off the middle rope and clotheslines him out of the ring, then flies through the middle rope with a dive to take out Carver on the outside. He dumps Carver back in the ring, but Carver sends Ledger crashing into the mat spine first and fires off right hands on his head. He fires off a few right hands on Ledger and pins him, but Ledger kicks out and Carver whips him into the corner spine first. He lands a pair of back elbows on him and levels him with a clothesline, then wears him down with a shoulder submission and lands a right hand on Ledger's spine. He follows it up with a powerbomb to Ledger and goes for a pin, but Ledger kicks out.

Ledger takes down Carver with a clothesline and ascends to the top rope, then lands a Swanton Bomb on Carver and goes for a pin. Carver kicks out and delivers a double stomp to Ledger's chest, then sends him crashing into the mat with an Alabama Slam for the win.

Winner: Keanu Carver

We then head over to a video from Naraku, who has a message for Tony D'Angelo and makes it clear he still wants to take the NXT Championship from him. We see Kam Hendrix and Tate Wilder respond to Naraku's video in the medical office, with Hendrix tells Wilder Mason Rook is cooked when he's at 100%. Rook confronts Hendrix about saying he's the person who hurt him, but Wilder fans the flames by confirming Hendrix just said Rook had hurt him. A fearful Hendrix then runs away. 

Layla Diggs, Thea Hail, Lizzy Rain, and Izzi Dame then all make their way to the ring.

The bell rings and Dame sends Hail crashing into the corner. She stacks Diggs on top of Hail, but Rain catches Dame in a sleeper hold. Dame fights off Rain by sending her crashing into Diggs and Hail.

Diggs levels Rain with a shoulder tackle before Hail, Rain, and Diggs take turns pinning one another while Dame is on the outside. Diggs lands on the apron, but Dame pulls her off to send her crashing into the floor. Diggs lands a chop on Rain, but Rain fires off a few chops on Diggs. Dame looks to go after Rain, but Rain flies off the ropes to take her out and fires off chops on her chest. She stacks Diggs on top of Dame and fires off chops on both women, but Hail looks to land a bodyslam on Hail. Diggs then takes down Rain and Hail with a double Pele Kick to them, but Rain rolls up Diggs. Diggs kicks out.

Back from the break, Dame and Rain teeter on the ropes. Dame delivers a superplex to Rain off the ropes, but Hail and Diggs deliver double splashes to Dame and Diggs. They pin the two women at the same time, but Dame and Diggs both kick out.

Hail lands a standing moonsault on Diggs and pins her, but Diggs kicks out and Hail delivers a suplex to her. She lands a powerslam on Rain and follows it up with a senton, then ascends up the ropes and delivers a double crossbody to Diggs and Rain. She lands a springboard senton on both women and pins them, but Dame forces Hail to move out of the way when she lands a double senton on both Diggs and Rain. She then pins Diggs and Rain, but Diggs and Rain both kick out.

Hail looks to cinch in a Kimura Lock on Dame, but Diggs breaks the hold with a single leg dropkick on both women. She fires off right hands on Rain, but Diggs looks to fly off the ropes. Rain catches her with a mid-air cutter before Dame levels Hail with a Shining Wizard and a sit-out powerbomb to Rain. She pins Rain, but Diggs breaks the fall and lands a chokeslam on Dame.

Hail fires off strikes on Dame, but Dame lands a codebreaker on Hail. Rain catches Dame with an uppercut, but Diggs lands a Shining Wizard on Rain. Hail cinches in a Kimura Lock on Diggs, but Diggs sends Hail crashing into the corner spine first and charges at her. Hail sends Diggs crashing into the ring post shoulder first, but Rain and Dame exchange strikes with one another and continue going back and forth with one another. Hail rolls up Rain, but Rain kicks out and lands Thunder Struck on Hail. Dame takes out Rain with a Shining Wizard, but Diggs connects with a moonsault on Hail for the win.
