WWE NXT Results 7/28 - North American Title On The Line, Lizzy Rain Faces Izzi Dame

Welcome to Wrestling Inc.'s results for "WWE NXT" on July 28, 2026, coming to you live from the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida!

Myles Borne will be putting his North American Championship on the line on "NXT" programming for the first time since retaining against his friend Tavion Heights at "NXT" The Great American Bash on June 28 as he defends against Kam Hendrix. Borne told "NXT" General Manager Robert Stone backstage during last Tuesday's episode of "NXT" that he would defend his title tonight in exchange for himself and Heights getting a shot at Vanity Project's NXT Tag Team Championship. A nearby Kam Hendrix claimed that he was still injured from Mason Rook a couple of weeks ago, but miraculously got a text medically clearing him upon hearing Stone point out that Borne needed a challenger.

Lizzy Rain will be in action as she goes one-on-one with Izzi Dame in singles competition. Dame looked to get involved in a match that took place between her ally Niko Vance and their former mentor Shawn Spears last Tuesday, but Rain ensured that didn't happen when she pulled Dame off the ring apron and brawled with her to the back. This subsequently allowed Spears to pretend that Vance had hit him with a chair and to emerge as the victor via referee stoppage.

Shiloh Hill may have scored a win against Tristan Angels at The Great American Bash, but tonight, Angels has his chance to write his wrongs when the pair collide with one another in a rematch. Angels has sought his retribution on Hill for his loss at The Great American Bash and losing their Mr. NXT Pageant, making it clear that he isn't finished with Hill by stomping on Hill's fake tooth on the July 14 episode of "NXT".

Additionally, OTM's Bronco Nima and Lucien Price will be squaring off against BirthRight's Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo and Uriah Connors. Cruz Montana (formerly known as Mike Santana) will also be making an appearance on tonight's show as per a video posted to his X account after staring down NXT Champion Tony D'Angelo in the moments that followed his title match against Naraku last Tuesday.

We are live! Vic Joseph and Booker T greet audiences at home as Grayson Waller appears in the ring.

Waller says he made his main roster debut at Madison Square Garden and became a Tag Team Champion shortly after, but says he knows it wasn't his work ethic. He ponders whether he didn't politic enough backstage and says he spent a long time carrying Austin Theory on his back, then says he spent the last year of his career being sad about a funeral with New Day. He says the irony of that was the only thing dying was his career, but says it's now a new day.

Waller says he's in the best shape and hungrier than ever, then says he has to conquer some demons to get to where he should be and says there's one prize he never got: the NXT Championship. He says that title is the gateway to the future and calls out Tony D'Angelo, then says he'll send him back home to his baby. A crew member tells Waller to wrap up, but Waller continues on and tells Shawn Michaels to send out one of his guys. He says he used to be a Michaels' guy, then calls out the "NXT" male roster and says the men on the "NXT" roster use their social media to gain clout with the women of Orlando. He says the energy gets sucked out of the room when the me start to talk and says he knows that there are plenty of people in the back looking at Michaels as he panics. He says that Michaels knows deep down that what he's saying is true, then promises to walk into "NXT" and take the NXT Championship.

Waller's microphone cuts out, but Waller gets close to the camera and says he doesn't need a microphone. He tells WWE to consider their cages rattled, but the camera cuts to black abruptly. 

Lizzy Rain then makes her way to the ring. Izzi Dame and Niko Vance follow.

The bell rings and the two lock up. Dame levels Rain with a clothesline, then sends her crashing into the mat spine first and rolls her up. Dame kicks out, but Rain sends Dame crashing out of the ring and looks to land a dropkick on her through the ropes. Dame runs over Rain with a big boot, then dumps her back in the ring and levels her with a shoulder block during the commercial break.

Dame sends Rain crashing into the mat face first and wears her down with a crossface, but Rain powers up to her feet and fires off chops on her. Rain lands a kick on Dame's head from the ring apron back from the break and ascends to the top rope, then delivers a missile dropkick on Dame and delivers a suplex on her.

Dame fires off forearms on Rain, but Rain rolls up Dame. Dame kicks out and fires off right hands on Rain on the outside, but Rain sends Dame crashing into the ring steps as the referee beats a ten count. Rain dumps Dame back in the ring and joins her in there to break the count.

Dame delivers a knee strike and a Crucifix Bomb to Rain, then goes for a pin but Rain kicks out. Dame levels Rain with a clothesline and runs her over with a boot, but Rain delivers a cutter and ascends up the ropes. Niko Vance hops up onto the apron to distract Rain, opening the door for Dame to run over Rain with a big boot.

Shawn Spears up behind Vance on the outside and threatens to hit him with a chair. As Dame is distracted by Spears, Rain takes advantage and delivers Thunderstruck on her for the win.

Winner: Lizzy Rain

We then head backstage, where Noam Dar and Romeo Moreno chat with Cruz Montana to formally welcome him to "NXT". Saquon Shugars approaches them, but Dar apologizes to him for taking the loss to DarkState last Tuesday. Shugars makes it clear there's no hard feelings, but Kelani Jordan then approaches Montana and claims that "NXT" is a bad working environment. She begins to vent about how she's been screwed time and time again, but Montana walks off and Jordan says he'll fit in just fine not listening to her like everyone else. 

We then head over to Robert Stone's office, where Vanity Project complain about having to defend their NXT Tag Team Championship against Myles Borne and Tavion Heights should Borne retain his North American Championship. Keanu Carver crashes the meeting and causes Vanity Project to leave, telling Stone all he wants is a match against EK Prosper next week. Stone agrees. 

Kam Hendrix then makes his way to the ring.

Back from the break, Jaida Parker and Thea Hail bond in the women's locker room. Hail informs Parker that they will be tagging next week against Nikkita Lyons and Karmen Petrovic, and when Parker shows that she's happy about doing so next week, Hail hugs her. 

Back at ringside, Myles Borne makes his way down. 

The bell rings and the two lock up. Hendrix wears down Borne's arm, but Borne sends Hendrix crashing into the mat and dropkicks Hendrix out of the ring. He flies over the top rope to take out Hendrix on the outside, but Hendrix sends Borne crashing into the ring apron repeatedly face first during the commercial break.

Borne clotheslines Hendrix on the outside, but the two men get back inside the ring and Borne repeatedly sends Hendrix's face bouncing off the turnbuckles. Hendrix fires off right hands on Borne and wears him down with a submission hold, then levels him with a strike and lands a clothesline to the back of his neck.

Borne levels Hendrix with a pair of clotheslines and a back body drop, then dropkicks Hendrix out of the ring and gets him back inside. We see Mason Rook watching the action from backstage and leave as Tavion Heights follows him, and the pair spill ito the ringside area.

Heights stops Rook from intervening, allowing Hendrix to land the Showtime Kick on Borne and go for a pin. Borne kicks out and connects with Borne again on Hendrix for the win.

Winner (and still): Myles Borne

After the match, Hendrix and Rook brawl away from the inside area as Vanity Project attacks Ricky Smokes and Brad Baylor's next challengers for the NXT Tag Team Championship. Borne and Heights get the better of Vanity Project and send them crashing out of the ring.

We then head over to Robert Stone's office, where Women's North American Champion Zaria and Women's Speed Champion Wren Sinclair want to know who their next challengers. Stone informs Sinclair that she'll be defending her title against Zaria next week, and if she retains, she can have a shot at Zaria's title in return. 

Back at ringside, BirthRight makes their way to the ring. OTM follows. 

Lucien Price and Uriah Connors begin the action. The bell rings and the two go back and forth. Bronco Nima and Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo tag in, but OTM dumps Stacks over the top rope and onto King, Dempsey, and Connors on the outside.

Price delivers a clothesline to Stacks in the corner during the commercial break, but Nima tags in and lands a backbreaker on Stacks. He looks to land a kick on Stacks, but Connors pulls Stacks out of the way from the outside of the ring.

Stacks wears down Nima with a submission hold, but Connors tags back in and delivers a Swanton Bomb to Nima back from the break. He goes for a pin, but Nima kicks out and Stacks tags back in.

Los Garza's Angel and Bero emerge at ringside. As the referee is distracted, Grace grabs Price's ankle. Connors rocks Price with a superkick, and Connors and Stacks deliver a dropkick-shining wizard combination to Price for the win.

Winners: BirthRight

After the match, Los Garza joins Nima and Price in the ring. Caught in the middle of his Perros Del Mal stablemates and OTM tag team partner, Nima high fives a frustrated Price.

Shiloh Hill then makes his way to the ring. Tristan Angels follows.

The bell rings and Hill lands a shoulderbreaker on Angels. Angels sends Hill crashing into the middle turnbuckle and fires off an elbow on the back of his neck, but Hill sends Angels' head bouncing off his knee.

Angels catches Hill with a hanging neckbreaker off the ring apron, then cinches in a sleeper hold on him inside the ring during the commercial break. Hill fights off Angels and rains down right hands on him, then delivers a bodyslam to him. The two men teeter on the ropes, but Angels lands a superplex on Hill back from the break and goes for a pin. Hill kicks out and powerbombs Angels onto the announce desk before he lands Super Thunder Breaker on Angels back inside the rig off the middle rope for the win.

Winner: Shiloh Hill

Cruz Montana then makes his way to the ring. 

Montana asks "NXT" what's good and says he's officially a WWE Superstar. He says there was a time he didn't think he would see another day of life and says he came up in some of the toughest neighborhoods of New York City. He says everyday was a struggle and a fight to survive, then says he's made mistakes he can't take back and says he was mostly fighting himself. He says he was either going to become another story of wasted potential, or a father that his daughter could be proud of.

Montana says he reached a ceiling as a tag team guy and was on a losing streak in a battle with himself, but he started to win and every step forward was him proving that he took advantage of a second chance. He says he rebuilt his career one match and one city at a time. He says he's not in "NXT" to fill a spot, but to take a spot as the new NXT Champion.

D'Angelo's music hits and he makes his way out. D'Angelo welcomes Montana to "NXT" and formally introduces himself to Montana, then says he's seen some of the hottest few agents come to the ring and say they'll win the NXT Championship. He says he believes every word Montana said, except for one thing: the spot he wants.

Grayson Waller appears out of nowhere as a brawl breaks out between Montana, Waller, and D'Angelo. Montana looks to land Spin The Block on Waller, but Waller ducks out of the way and Montana ends up hitting D'Angelo. D'Angelo, Waller, and Montana then stare down one another in the ring as the show goes off the air.
