TNA Thursday Night Impact Results 8/13 - TNA World Championship On The Line & More

Nic Nemeth will be putting the TNA World Championship on the line in a TNA ring for the first time since retaining against KC Navarro on the July 23 episode of "Thursday Night Impact" as he defends against one half of the reigning TNA World Tag Team Champions Jeff Hardy. Nic became increasingly frustrated with Jeff during last Thursday's edition of "Thursday Night Impact" when Jeff seemingly paid no attention to anything he had to say about him as Jeff worked on a piece of artwork during a backstage contract singing between both men for tonight's match.

Speaking of Navarro, he defeated Brian Myers in singles competition last Thursday via disqualification thanks to interference at the hands of Myers' System stablemate Eddie Edwards. Eddie and Myers continued to beat down Navarro in the moments that followed until Fabian Aicher came to Navarro's aid. TNA Director of Authority Santino Marella subsequently made a tag match pitting Navarro and Aichner against Eddie and Myers, which was ultimately won by the latter two men. Following such events, Navarro will be going head-to-head with Eddie tonight while Myers will be colliding with another rival of The System in Ricky Sosa.

The first semifinals match in the TNA Knockouts Television Championship Tournament will be held tonight, as Indi Hartwell squares off against The Elegance Brand's M By Elegance. Hartwell defeated Vicious Vicki Venuto in the first round and "WWE NXT" star Thea Hail in the quarterfinals to secure her spot in the semifinals, while M received a buy into the semifinals when a first round match between fellow WWE star Wendy Choo and Elayna Black ended in a time limit draw with the winner of said match set to have taken on M in the quarterfinals.

Additionally, Rich Swann and BDE will be joining forces with a mystery tag team partner to square off against Order 4's Mustafa Ali, John Skyler, and Special Agent 0 in a Six Man Tag Team Match. Moose will also be hosting "The Face Of The Franchise Speech" talk show before he faces off against Frankie Kazarian in an Escape The Cage Match at TNA Lockdown on August 23.

We are live! The show kicks off with a video recapping the Knockouts World Championship match between Xia Brookside and Wendy Choo last Thursday, as well as the contract signing between Nic Nemeth and Jeff Hardy.

Tom Hannifan and Matthew Rehwoldt then greet audiences at home as Ricky Sosa makes his way to the ring. Brian Myers and Bear Bronson follow.

The bell rings and Sosa delivers a bodyslam to Myers. He follows it up with a senton, but Myers slides out of the ring for a time out. Sosa catches him in a side headlock, but Myers sends Sosa crashing into the ring apron face first and spine first. Myers wears down Sosa with a submission hold, but Sosa levels Myers with an enzuigiri to his head and connects with a scoop powerslam on him.

Sosa connects with a springboard moonsault on Myers and pins him, but Myers kicks out. He delivers a pump kick to send an interfering Bronson off the ring apron, opening the door for Myers to take advantage and land an elevated flatliner on him. He goes for a pin, but Sosa kicks out.

Sosa levels Myers with a dropkick, but Cedric Alexander runs out to hop onto the apron. Sosa knocks him off, but Myers catches him with a Sidewalk Slam. Bronson then distracts the referee as Myers grabs hold of the X-Division Championship belt. He looks to hit Sosa with it, but Leon Slater grabs the X-Division Championship belt from him. This opens the door for Sosa to deliver a running uppercut to Myers and pin him for the win.

Winner: Ricky Sosa

After the match, Slater says he laid down a challenge to Alexander for a Steel Cage Match for the X-Division Championship at Lockdown. He says Alexander turned down the fight when he hasn't been known to do so, then says it wasn't because The System told him not to or because the fans don't want it, but because Alexander is jealous and scared. He challenges Alexander to the Lockdown match again and says he's willing to give whatever it takes this time, prompting Alexander to tell Slater that he's "Prime" and has no reason to be jealous of him.

Alexander tells Slater he'll defend the X-Division Championship if Slater gives him his record, clarifying that it means Slater's tied up record for being the longest reigning X-Division Champion of all time will be erased if he loses. Slater agrees, but Alexander tells Slater that he only has himself to blame for the erasure of him from history.

Back from the break, we see A.J. Francis is recording music in a studio until the strum of Elijah's guitar interrupts him and he appears to send a message to Francis. He says there will be no excuses at Lockdown and judgment to come, but Francis finds himself trapped in the booth. When he looks to escape, he seemingly snaps back into reality and his producer asks him if he's okay. A startled Francis says he is.

Back at ringside, Moose makes his way to the ring with a scarf around his neck and a pair of sunglasses to imitate Frankie Kazarian.

Moose says "The King's Speech" talk show inspired him so much that he decided he needed a talk show of his own. He says he snuck into Kazarian's bag to steal his scarf and sunglasses, then tosses the sunglasses and scarf out to the live crowd before welcoming fans to the inaugural edition of "The Face of the Franchise Speech".

Moose says the live crowd are his special guests, then says he has some questions for them and tells them to yell the answers if they know them. He asks who "The Face of the Franchise" is, who just celebrated a decade in TNA Wrestling, who beat every member of The System alone, who is a former three time TNA World Champion, offered a contract by every major wrestling company around the world just to decline them to stay home in TNA Wrestling, and who will beat Kazarian at Lockdown. The live crowd responds with Moose to all of those questions.

Kazarian's music hits and he makes his way out. He says the little game Moose is playing is stupid and asks the live crowd questions looking for the answer of King. He asks who the real face of TNA Wrestling is, who the king of TNA Wrestling is, and who will be the last man standing at Lockdown. The crowd answers Moose to all of Kazarian's questions.

Kazarian says the difference between himself and Moose is that he's loyal and Moose is nothing more than a failed American football player. He says he's like a filet mignon while Moose is like gas station food, but Moose says it's one thing to insult him and another thing to insult his guests. He says if Kazarian steps into the ring with him, he'll have to punch him in the face.

Kazarain steps in the ring as he says he does what he wants when he wants, then calls TNA Wrestling his company and say he used to think Moose was a failure as a NFL player. He says Moose is also a failure as a father and husband, prompting Moose to clock Kazarian and set up for a spear on him. Kazarian avoids it and looks to hit Moose with one of the stools in the ring, but Moose rains down right hands on Kazarian. Security runs out to the ring to separate the two men.

Order 4 then makes their way out to the ring. Rich Swann, BDE, and their mystery tag team partner Trey Miguel follow.

Mustafa Ali and Miguel begin the action. The bell rings and Ali tags out to John Skyler. Miguel levels Skyler with a dropkick and kips up, but BDE, Swann, and Miguel triple team on Skyler. BDE and Swann deliver a flapjack-bulldog combination to Ali and rocks Special Agent 0 with a double superkick.

Agent 0 delivers a chokeslam to Swnan from the apron as Skyler distracts the referee, then tags in and fires off shoulders on Swann's midsection in the corner. Agent 0 dumps Swann across the ring before he fires off right hands on him and delivers a suplex to him.

Ali tags back in and Swann catches him with a spinning kick, but Agent 0 tags back in and sends Swann crashing into the mat face first. Skyler tags in, but Swann fights him off and tags out to Miguel. Miguel delivers a shotgun dropkick to Skyler off the top rope, but Skyler rolls him up. Skyler kicsk out, but Miguel lands a dropkick on his spine and goes for another pin. Agent 0 breaks the fall, but Swann and BDE go after him. Agent 0 takes them both out and delivers a double chokeslam to them both, then looks to land one on Miguel. Miguel avoids it and Agent 0 charges at him, but Miguel ducks out of the way and Agent 0 is sent crashing into the ring post. Miguel then dumps Skyler back inside the ring and delivers a Scorpion Kick on him before following it up with Lightning Spiral for the win.

Winners: Rich Swann, BDE, and Trey Miguel

After the match, Agent 0 sneaks up on Miguel and lands a double arm chokeslam on him. Jason Hotch runs out to the ring to come to Miguel's aid.

We then head over to The Injury Report, where we find out that the aforementioned Hotch and Miguel have been medically cleared and Nic Nemeth is in "pristine condition".

We then head backstage back from the break, where Xia Brookside is in the makeup area and looks in the mirror to find that she's unhappy with her overdone makeup. Elayna Black reveals she was the one behind Brookside's bad makeup leading to a brawl between both women.

Back at ringside, The Elegance Brand makes their way out. Indi Hartwell follows.

The bell rings and the two women waste no time going after one another. M delivers a dropkick to Hartwell and fires off shoulders on her midsection, but Hartwell delivers a boot to the side of M's head from the ring apron and ascends up the ropes. M trips her up and drapes her off the top rope by her knees, then delivers a dropkick to her and jams her knee into the back of Hartwell's neck back inside the ring.

Hartwell delivers clotheslines to M and ascends to the top rope, then lands an elbow drop on her spine and goes for a pin. M kicks out, but Hartwell sends her crashing out of the ring and sends her crashing into the ring apron midsection first. Xia Brookside and Elayna Black brawl out into the ringside area as security takes advantage, allowing M to take advantage of a distracted Hartwell and deliver a moonsault to her off the top rope for the win.

Winner: M By Elegance

Back from the break, we see that Moose was attacked backstage during the commercials.

Back at ringside, Eddie Edwards and Alisha Edwards make their way out. KC Navarro follows.

The bell rings and Navarro dials it up for a 619 on Eddie. Eddie rolls out of the ring, but Navarro lands a suicide dive through the middle rope to level him on the outside and delivers a Frog Splash to him off the top rope back inside the ring.

Eddie wears down Navarro with a submission hold and fires off knee strikes on him, but Navarro delivers a Tornado DDT to Eddie. Alisha tosses her high heel into the ring and argues with the referee as Eddie grabs onto a kendo stick. Navarro takes it from him and delivers a Sliced Bread to Eddie for the win.

Winner: KC Navarro

After the match, Bear Bronson and Brian Myers immediately ran out to beat down Navarro. Myers throws a chair into the ring, but Jada Stone, Fabian Aichner, and Ricky Sosa run out with a sledgehammer, crowbar, and chair in hand respectively. Santino Marella tells them, informing Stone, Aichner, Sosa, and Navarro, and The System that the stable will be taking on the former four competitors in a Lethal Lockdown match.
