AEW Collision Results 8/22 - Women's World Title Match, Continental Cup Continues

The Continental Challenge Cup quarterfinals continue tonight with two matches. Yesterday, Tony Khan announced that Eddie Kingston wasn't medically cleared to compete tonight. Daniel Garcia won a play-in match against Adam Priest at Death Before Dishonor. Tonight, he'll face fellow Death Rider, Claudio Castagnoli. Friends and Conglomeration members, Orange Cassidy and Kyle O'Reilly will face off.

Before winning the Women's Championship, Willow Nightingale promised Maya World a title shot after she won. She's making good on that promise tonight.

Cassidy comes to the ring first. O'Reilly follows.

Cassidy put his glasses on O'Reilly. KOR put him in a side headlock and Cassidy did the same. KOR put him in a headscissors. Cassidy did a headstand to get out of it and then he put him in a side headlock twice. They dodged each other's moves before Cassidy did a side headlock and did one through the ropes. O'Reilly with a back suplex. Cassidy rolled him up. O'Reilly worked his arm until Cassidy put him in a waistlock. O'Reilly put him in one and he put his hands in his pockets to shimmy out. KOR with another side headlock.

Cassidy took him down with his hands in his pockets and he kicked O'Reilly to the outside. Cassidy faked him out before sitting on the ropes to open them for KOR, so KOR climbed up the ringpost to get in. O'Reilly dragonscrewed his leg. He went for a running kick, but Cassidy moved. He opened the ropes for Cassidy, who rolled under the ropes. KOR with a snap suplex and Cassidy did one of his own. They each did one more.

After the break, O'Reilly suplexed Cassidy and Cassidy responded with his own. O'Reilly landed another after Cassidy tried to fight him off. Cassidy charged at him and KOR landed another suplex. Cassidy landed one. They hit hands in the middle of the ring before Cassidy landed forearms and KOR landed kicks. KOR grabbed his leg, but Cassidy slapped him in the neck. He followed with thrust kicks. KOR sent him down with a kick and Cassidy immediately got up. KOR with multiple strikes, He blocked Slumdog Millionaire with an armbar. He went for an ankle lock, but Cassidy blocked it. Cassidy kicked him in the legs repeatedly. He put Cassidy in a standing choke. Cassidy responded with a falcon arrow and a tilt o whirl DDT.

Cassidy went up top and KOR ducked and rolled him up. He followed with a leg sweep. Cassidy dodged the PK and KOR dodged the Beach Break. Cassidy went for another Beach Break. Cassidy blocked an ankle lock, but O'Reilly was able to cinch it in. KOR went for a stomp, but didn't. They exchanged roll up attempts, but O'Reilly locked in an ankle lock for the win.
