Penta, Rey Fenix Win World Title No. 1 Contender's Tournament Semifinals On WWE Raw
Rey Fénix and Penta both advanced in the Number 1 contender's tournament on "WWE Raw."
Fénix took on Dragon Lee in the first semifinal match. He landed a Goodbye Amigo, following with a crossbody from the top and a springboard moonsault. He landed a double leg drop, but Lee kicked out. They exchanged kicks and blocked each other's moves. Lee landed a sitdown powerbomb. Fénix kicked him in the face and took him down with a dive from the top rope. Fénix landed an uppercut before going up top. Lee fought Fénix off and landed a double stomp that sent Fenix crashing into the mat.
Lee kicked Fénix to the floor. Fénix drove his head into the announce desk, but was caught going for a running kick. Lee landed a tope suicida and knocked Fenix off the commentary desk. Lee landed a tornado DDT. Fénix landed a brainbuster. Fénix went for a Mexican Muscle Buster, but Lee blocked it and landed a Styles Clash, but Fenix kicked out. Fénix landed a cutter, but Lee kicked out. Lee kicked a charging Fenix in the face. Fénix finally connected with a Mexican Muscle Buster for the win.
Penta took on AAA's La Parka in the other semifinal match. He took Parka down immediately, but Parka did the same. Penta took him down and then dumped him on the outside and landed a tope con hilo. Parka kicked him through the ropes and landed a moonsault. Penta kicked him in midair. Penta landed a backstabber after Parka landed multiple forearm shots.
Parka landed a crossbody from the top. He used the ropes for an armdrag and powerslam. Penta dropkicked Parka into the corner and then kicked him in the chest. Parka planted Penta. Penta responded with a Penta Driver. Parka and Penta battled up top and Parka landed a Spanish Fly. Penta countered a Bone Breaker and landed a Mexican Destroyer off the ropes to advance.
After the match, Fénix came out and they stared each other down before shaking hands. Penta vs. Fénix will face off next week in the tournament finals. The winner will face Roman Reigns in Mexico City on the September 14 edition of "Raw."
