TNA Impact Results 8/27 - Knockouts TV Title Tournament Concludes, Elijah Vs. Bronson

Welcome to Wrestling Inc.'s live coverage of "TNA Impact" emanating from the CAA Centre in Brampton, Ontario, Canada. 

Picking up from Sunday's Lockdown event, the show is set to kick off the road to October's Bound For Glory. TNA World Champion Nic Nemeth already has his challenger for that event cemented, with Leon Slater vacating his X-Division Championship to exercise Option C just moments after Nemeth became TNA World Tag Team Champion with his brother Ryan. The Nemeths will be kicking off the show, presumably to celebrate and address the new challenger.

The X-Division title will also find its new holder at Bound For Glory in a six-way, with the participants set to be determined in qualifying matches in the coming weeks. The first two have been announced pitting Fabian Aichner against Rohit Raju and KC Navarro against Joe Alonzo.  

Indi Hartwell had also made it clear during Lockdown that she wanted the next opportunity at the TNA Knockouts World Championship held by Xia Brookside. Brookside managed to escape with her title in Chicago with a sneaky victory over Elayna Black. Hartwell is slated to be in action, though her opponent has yet to be confirmed. 

Elijah will be taking on the System's Bear Bronson, flanked by Brian Myers. And the TNA Knockouts TV Championship will be inaugurated following a final between Jada Stone and M by Elegance. 

"Impact" is scheduled to start at 9 PM ET on AMC and AMC+ for those watching in the United States, and via TNA+ for those watching internationally.

Ryan Nemeth speaks first, introducing his big brother as the TNA World Champion, claiming them to be the greatest family in professional wrestling. Nic says he guesses this makes him the most valuable man in TNA. 

Ryan says he got a team of experts in the back to put together a list of people to accomplish becoming double champion other than him. Kurt Angle's name pops up but they roast him for being bald and tell production to take his name down. 

Nic now turns his attention to Leon Slater. He says that Slater is a one-trick pony, but everyone should bet on themselves... unless it's against him. 

Slater's music plays and he makes his entrance. He says that he didn't confront Nic at the end of Lockdown to "take the p*** and steal your spotlight." He meant what he said and he has made a habit of saying things and backing it up. When he says that he means to become the youngest TNA World Champion, he intends to get it done.

Slater says he notices the Tag belts and says they're looking real nice to him, and he just so happens to have struck up an undefeated partnership of his own. Ricky Sosa comes out to join Slater, but Ryan insists that there will be no title match for them on the grounds that Daria Rae will not allow it. 

Santino Marella's music plays and he comes out, addressing "stupid head" Ryan and saying Daria might not allow it, but he will. The Nemeths will defend their Tag titles against Slater and Sosa tonight.

Mila Moore and Order Four are shown backstage. Once she gets off the phone, she says that Mustafa Ali is still in the hospital after Lockdown. But, since he was scheduled to team with Special Agent Zero to take on Trey Miguel and Jason Hotch tonight, John Skyler will be taking his place and is the stand-in leader of the group.

The match starts and Elijah looks to walk the ropes early, going after the injured left arm of Bronson. 

Elijah drapes Bronson over the apron and sends his face into it, looking for a drive-by kick before being halted by Brian Myers at ringside. That allows Bronson to take Elijah out with a dive. Bronson follows up with an elbow drop from the second rope and burrows his knee into the back of Elijah's neck against them middle rope. 

Elijah fights back with a mule kick but gets quickly dumped back down to the mat for a two-count. Bronson lays strikes in at the middle of the ring, Elijah returning fire with chops. Bronson goes for a run-up twice but gets rocked with thrust kicks. Elijah looks for the running knee strike but gets dropped with a sit-out chokebomb for a two-count. 

Bronson tries for a powerbomb but struggles with his arm, and Elijah turns it into an Alabama slam. Elijah sends Myers into the barricade before turning his focus to Bronson, hitting Highwayman's Farewell for the winning pinfall.

After the match, Eddie Edwards, Cedric Alexander and Alisha Edwards run down to the ring for a System beat down.

Elayna Black is shown in a vignette talking about her defeat at Lockdown in her hometown. She says she's proud she was able to put on a performance for them, but she is disappointed she didn't walk out the TNA Knockouts Champion. 

She ponders whether it was her karma, and whether Lockdown was needed for her to be humbled and to remember what mattered and who she was doing this for. 

She says that she is here to show that Elayna Black came here with a mission, she's only 25 years old and it's only her first year with TNA, and this is still the beginning of a long era of Elayna. 

Trey Miguel and John Skyler start things off, Miguel sending Skyler into the ropes but getting a shoulder tackle for his troubles. Miguel comes back with high-flying offense before tying Skyler up and tagging Hotch in. Skyler hesitates and Zero tags himself in. 

Hotch sends Zero out of the ring with a hurricanrana and follows that up with a dive to the outside to take him off his feet completely. Hotch beckons for Miguel to help him dispense Zero back in the ring, but Mila Moore holds Hotch's ankle on the apron, and Zero sends him ribs-first into the ringpost. 

Skyler gets down to check on Hotch, but Zero pushes his partner out of the way to continue the match. He throws Hotch in the ring and begins to target the midsection, hammer throwing him into the corner and delivering a German suplex to send him to the other side of the ring. 

Hotch fought back briefly with a flurry of strikes but Zero kicked him to the gut, sending him back into the corner and then up in the air and back down with a backdrop. Zero continued to ground and pound Hotch, Skyler gestures to be tagged in, and Zero obliges. 

Skyler now begins to work the mid-section of his former tag team partner and best friend. Hotch fights his way to his feet but Skyler puts him back down with a scoop slam, going for the cover but only for a near-fall. 

Zero tags back in and presses Hotch, sinking a punt into the ribs and choking him against the bottom rope. The referee pulls Zero away and Moore uses that chance to continue choking him. Zero then goes for the cover but only for a two-count. 

Zero hits a flatliner and goes for the cover again but Hotch still survives. Hotch fights back with punches and an enzugiri but Zero punishes him with a bear hug. Hotch sinks elbows in in an attempt to break the hold, Zero drops him and tags Skyler in. 

Hotch kicks Skyler away and gets a tag out to Miguel, rallying against Skyler and going for the cover for a near-fall. Miguel flies from the top rope but Zero pulls Skyler away, socking Miguel before getting dropped by Zero. 

Zero inadvertently takes out Skyler as he goes for Hotch. Hotch sends Zero into the ringpost. Miguel delivers a meteora to Skyler in the middle of the ring and gets the winning pinfall. 

Trey Miguel & Jason Hotch def. Order Four via Pinfall

Mustafa Ali appears via satellite in the hospital, saying that Hotch fractured his ribs and punctured his lung. He says the only thing he can imagine being more painful than that is someone disrespecting his wife and daughter.

He admits they may have taken this too far, and calls for them to end this and call a truce. He proposes that Jason Hotch rejoins Order Four. "It's open arms or a call to arms. That choice is yours," he says.

Dutch sets up a singles match with BDE as the Righteous join him and Rich Swann backstage. 

Avery Styles appears in a backstage interview with Gia Miller. He says he cannot wait to start his story here. Moose appears and says he will give him some advice, "Be careful who you associate with," referring to Frankie Kazarian. 

Kazarian now appears, tells Moose to shut up and says Avery needs advice from someone not named after a "big dumb animal." He warns Moose off Avery and leaves him the junior Styles. 

The starting bell rings and they tie up, M getting the advantage and pushing Stone into the corner. Stone executes a quick roll-up for a near-fall, followed by two more, and then dropkicks M into the corner. Stone hits a missile dropkick and a standing moonsault before going for the cover and getting another near-fall. M retreats to the outside of the ring. Stone gives chase but ends up ripped from the apron and landing face first. 

M hits a wheelbarrow suplex to send Stone into the apron, throwing her into the ring and making the cover for a one-count. M continues to dig her boot into Stone's face in the corner before laying knees into her gut. 

M hammer throws Stone into the corner and goes for another cover for another one-count. Stone slaps M in the face, rebounds off the ropes but gets leveled with a big boot. M hits a fallaway slam to send Stone to the apron, dragging her back into the ring and using the top rope to cinch in an arm submission. 

M digs a dropkick into the back and goes for another cover to no avail, placing her atop the ropes and looking for a superplex. Stone fights her off but M returns with a pump kick, delivering a draping cutter and going for the cover. But Stone kicks out before the count of three. 

M looks for a moonsault but Stone avoids it, avoiding another pump kick attempt and rallying with a series of strikes and chops. She makes use of a hurricanrana and a dropkick, following that up with a 619 and rolling through with a double stomp before going for the cover. M kicks out at two. 

Stone sets up for the SparkStunner but M avoids it, getting dropped with a kick all the same. Stone looks for a split-legged moonsault but M catches her, delivering a standing blue thunder bomb. 

Stone still fights back and goes for a springboard moonsault, but M gets her knees up. M cartwheels into a powerbomb and looks to ascend the ropes. 

Stone hits a superkick to halt her at the top, joining her for a Spanish Fly back down to the middle of the ring. Stone flew from the top rope once more but couldn't get the cover, with M turning her following flurry into an inverted driver for the winning pinfall.

Jeff Hardy is shown backstage being loaded up into an ambulance, Matt Hardy joins him, exclaiming he does not know what happened. 

Hartwell says she's a little p***ed off right now after being told by Daria Rae that she does not deserve an opportunity. She says this still is her only dream, there is no plan B, she dropped out of university for this, she moved across the world for this. 

She says she is in her prime and she is not going to let anything or anyone stand in her way anymore. 

Daria's music plays and she comes out, saying that was so touching until she realized how horribly mediocre she is. She says that she cannot stand how people who believe they deserve an opportunity purely because they love wrestling, and she will explain how the real world works. 

She says in the real world, money brings opportunity. Her advice would be to take her underperforming, medicore a** back to catering. Hartwell calls Daria "diarrhea" twice, thus provoking a chant to that effect. 

Hartwell calls for Daria to fight her over it, but Daria says she would not get in the ring and give her the rub. Hartwell says just because her career was a failure, doesn't mean she has to try and make everyone else's career a failure, and with or without her she will become Knockouts Champion. 

Daria says good luck with that and Hartwell is attacked by the debuting Zoey Serrano – formerly WWE's Zoey Stark. Daria introduces her as the newest signing to the Knockouts division.

In a subsequent backstage segment, Indi Hartwell and Harly Hudson are talking to one another about Daria, and Hudson says she will have her back. Xia Brookside appears to goad Hartwell after Daria said she would never challenge for the title.

Santino Marella appears and says he will make the match, but Daria comes into frame and vetoes that. Santino instead books a tag team match between Brookside and Serrano against Hartwell and Hudson. 

The match starts with Nic Nemeth and Leon Slater in the ring. Nic evades Slater and tags out to Ryan, who comes in just to get dropped twice with the boot of Slater.

Slater mounts Ryan in the corner and sinks ten punches in before throwing him into his team's corner, tagging Ricky Sosa in for the first time. Sosa hits a senton and makes the cover for a two-count. 

Ryan evades Sosa and tags Nic back into the match. Nemeth immediately takes the wrist control but Sosa reverses it. They swap reversals before Nic sends Sosa into the ropes, Sosa returning with a shoulder tackle to drop Nic. He follows that up with a dropkick before Nic elbows him in the face and tags back out to Ryan. 

Ryan assumes control over Sosa in the middle of the ring. Sosa fights back and tags out to Slater, rushing Ryan in the ring with kicks. Slater goes to the top rope and takes Ryan down with a crossbody, going for the cover for the two-count. Nic tries to run in but gets dropped with a superkick.

Slater hits Utopia and goes for the cover, Ryan kicks out and Nic pulls him from the ring to regroup. Ryan returns to the ring and gets a kick to the gut for his troubles. 

Slater drives him back into their corner and tags out to Sosa. Sosa goes for a cover but Ryan kicks out at one. Slater tags back in and Ryan rakes at his eyes, tagging back out to Nic who just stomps away at his opponent on the mat. 

Nic brings him back to his corner and tags out to Ryan, double teaming Slater in the corner and then boasting to the crowd. Slater rolls up Ryan for a two-count and a striking exchange begins in the middle of the ring, won out by Slater who then tagged back out to Sosa. 

Sosa hit a basement dropkick to the back of Ryan and went for the cover but only for a two-count. Slater tagged back in and continued to work Ryan over, going to the top rope as Nic tried to help his brother and got kicked off the apron for it. It still gives Ryan the chance to yank Slater off of the ropes, tweaking his knee. 

Ryan tags back out to Nic and he continues to punish Slater, kicking out the knee when he tried to reach for a tag back to Sosa. 

Ryan tags in and goes for a cover but only for an early two-count, and then follows up with a neckbreaker for another two-count. He tags back out to Nic. 

Nic continues to beat down Slater in the corner, dragging his face against the ropes before tagging back out to Ryan. Ryan drops Slater and takes a moment to boast again, and is again punished for it as Slater lands a dropkick. 

Ryan tags Nic back in and he tried to halt Slater from getting the tag, but with a kick and a jump Sosa is back in the match. 

Sosa continues to rally and take out both Nemeths before delivering a standing moonsault to Nic and making the cover, but Nic kicks out at two. Nic tries to roll up Sosa but Sosa kicks out and returns fire with a twisting neckbreaker. He goes for the cover for a two-count. 

Nic comes back with a spiking DDT and goes for the cover, but this time Sosa kicks out at two. Nic starts to tune up for a superkick but Sosa telegraphs it and delivers a Blue Thunderbang, tagging out to Slater. Slater goes to the top rope and hits the Swanton 450. He goes for the cover, but Ryan pulls him out of the ring before the count of three can be made. 

Slater tags back out to Sosa, who hits a springboard cutter to Nic in the ring. Sosa makes the cover but Nic kicks out again. 

Sosa gears up for the Headshot but Ryan grabs his ankle. Slater takes flight to drop Ryan on the outside and inside the ring, Nic hits a superkick to Sosa. He goes for the cover but Sosa kicks out.

He gears up for another superkick but Sosa catches him in a powerbomb, going for the cover but Nic still survives. Sosa looks to press the advantage and get the win, but Nic catches him with Danger Zone and makes the cover for the winning pinfall.
