AEW Dynamite Results 9/2 - AEW World Trios Championship Up For Grabs & More

Welcome to Wrestling Inc.'s results for "AEW Dynamite" on September 2, 2026, coming to you live from the Credit Union of Texas Event Center in Dallas, Texas!

Kofi and Austin Creed of The New Level and Swerve Strickland will be putting their freshly won AEW World Trios Championship on the line as they defend against The Rascalz' Dezmond Xavier, Zachary Wentz, and Myron Reed. The New Level made their AEW debut in the opening Trios Roulette Royale of AEW All In this past Sunday as Strickland's trios partners, with the three men ultimately eliminating The Death Riders last to win the whole bout.

Mercedes Mone dethroned Willow Nightingale as AEW Women's World Champion at All In, putting an end to her 35 day reign as titleholder. Tonight, she will be celebrating becoming the new champion as she kicks off her first reign with the title and the second one she's won throughout her time in AEW.

As of writing, nothing else has been announced for tonight's show. However, there is sure to be some more fallout from All In, with Will Ospreay dethroning Kenny Omega as AEW World Champion in the main event of the pay-per-view event among several other notable things. Darby Allin also won the TNT Championship from The Don Callis Family's Kevin Knight in a Fall Counts Anywhere Match, Kazuchika Okada dethroned fellow Don Callis Family member Kyle Fletcher as International Champion in a Triple Threat Match that also involved Konosuke Takeshita. The Brawling Birds' Jamie Hayter and Alex Windsor also became the new AEW Women's World Tag Team Champions by beating Megan Bayne and Lena Kross of Division Dominion, and Jon Moxley won the 2026 Continental Challenge Cup with a win in his finals match against Nigel McGuinness.

We are live! Excalibur and Tony Schiavone greet audiences at home to run down the card for tonight's show. They then throw it over to a video recapping some of the highlights of All In.

Justin Roberts introduces new AEW World Champion Will Ospreay, and he makes his way to the ring. 

Ospreay apologizes for looking a little rough after his match against Kenny Omega at All In and says he doesn't want to cry from the cheers of the live crowd because he's had a whole week of crying. He says All In was amazing and says he struggles to show the gratitude he has for winning the AEW World Championship, then thanks those who have been there from the beginning and those who have been there for him since his arrival in AEW.

Ospreay addresses Omega and says they both pushed one another to their limits. He says there were times on Sunday that he wanted to stay down and he kept fighting, then says Omega has been the best wrestler in the world for the last 10 years and he still is. He says it took one good day for him to dethrone Omega as AEW World Champion and says the only thing he wanted from Omega is to be acknowledged as his equal. He says he's satisfied with them both having 2 wins against one another, but if Omega isn't satisfied with that, he can name the time and place for his AEW World Championship rematch.

Ospreay says Omega was one of his heroes a long time ago, then says he's the "Billy Goat", the best in the world, and the new AEW World Champion. He says anyone who wants to take his title from him will have to walk through the same fire that he did, then shouts out his United Empire stablemates for helping him back up when he was down. He says he wanted no one else but United Empire in his corner at All In and says there will be a United Empire in New Japan Pro-Wrestling while he creates opportunities in AEW. He then promises to bring United Empire to AEW.

Ricochet, Toa Liona, and Bishop Kaun appear on the entrance ramp, and Ricochet says Ospreay knows they have unfinished business and will forever be intertwined. He says the people don't give him enough credit which is okay because they don't know him like Ospreay does. He says Ospreay has known him for years, but Gabe Kidd cuts off Ricochet when he appears with Clark Connors and says Ospreay took away his chance to be the first English AEW World Champion. He says that's nothing compared to what he'll take from Ospreay's family, but Ricochet stops Kidd and says he'll have the first opportunity to take the AEW World Championship from Ospreay. Kidd clarifies that he doesn't want the AEW World Championship from Ospreay yet.

The Dogs and The Demand surround the ring, but United Empire's Henare, Callum Newman, and Francesco Akira run into the ring to back up Ospreay. Ospreay then proposes an Ten Man Tag Team Match pitting himself, United Empire, and a mystery tag team partner against The Demand and The Dogs.

Strickland and Myron Reed begin the action. The bell rings and the two lock up. Austin Creed and Dezmond Xaiver tag in and go back and forth with one another, but Creed catches Xavier with a running senton and tags in Kofi.

Kofi delivers a kick to Xavier's chest and double teams on him with Woods, but Xavier fights off Kofi. Zachary Wentz tags in and Creed delivers a moonsault off Kofi's shoulders, but Wentz delivers a Tornillo to Kofi. All six men then begin brawling with one another, but Kofi tags in and delivers a crossbody to Wentz, Xavier, and Reed on the outside when the action spills out of the ring.

Back from the break, Reed and Kofi tag in and Kofi levels Reed with a kick and a right hand. Creed makes the blind tag in, and Kofi lands the Boom Drop on Reed. Creed connects with a Tornado DDT on Reed, but Strickland tags in and delivers a vertical suplex on Reed. He goes for a pin, but Wentz breaks the fall.

Xavier tags in and pins Strickland, but Strickland kicks out. He catches Wentz with a right hand when Wentz charges at him, but Reed intercepts Strickland with a StunDog Millionaire. Wentz and Xavier then deliver a German suplex-enzuigiri combination to Strickland before Kofi ascends to the top rope. Xavier knocks Kofi off the ropes and looks to land a dive on Kofi through the middle rope, but Kofi sends Xavier crashing into the mat. Wentz levels Kofi with a Tornillo, but Creed flies to take out Wentz. Creed then lands a double tope suicidia on Xavier and Woods, but Reed takes out Woods and Kofi at the same time.

Reed dumps Kofi back in the ring, but Strickland delivers a mid-air House Call to Xavier when Xavier bounces off the ropes. Strickland lands a second House Call on Creed, and Creed pins Xavier for the win.

The Young Bucks' music hits, and they make their way to the ring as they stare down New Level, Strickland, and Nana on the entrance ramp.

Matt Jackson says himself and Nick Jackson won't complain about getting screwed over because they've done worse things to people, then asks Adam Copeland and Christian Cage if they're satisfied with how they retained their AEW World Tag Team Championship at All In. He calls Copeland and Cage to the ring.

FTR's music hits, and Stokely Hathaway makes his way to the ring with Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler. Hathaway says Matt and Nick blew it at AEW Revolution and All In, then says The Young Bucks disgust him. Harwood says "daddy's home" and says Matt and Nick lost again in front of the fans, then reminds them that himself and Wheeler have beaten him already and tells them to watch FTR become the first ever four time AEW World Tag Team Champions.

Nick reminds FTR that himself and Matt have also beaten them and says The Young Bucks haven't said the words "I Quit" like Harwood and Wheeler did at AEW Double or Nothing.

Cage's music hits, and he makes his way to the ring with Copeland. Cage says people don't ask how one wins, but who the runner or winners are. He says himself and Coplenad were supposed to be the old guys past their prime, but they've retained their AEW World Tag Team Championship against both teams. Copeland adds that he realizes his job is to be the voice of reason and says he's not pleased with Cage cheating at All In as Cage looks displeased at Copeland. Copeland says FTR and The Young Bucks both have reasons for a AEW World Tag Team Championship rematch, then proposes a Three-Way TLC Match for the AEW World Tag Team Championship between himself and Cage, The Young Bucks, and FTR at AEW All Out on September 26.

We then head backstage, where Will Ospreay and United Empire catch up with Lexy Nair and reveal they've recruited Andrade El Idolo as their fifth tag team partner for later tonight. 

Back at ringside, Darby Allin makes his way out. 

Davis blindsides Allin at the bottom of the entrance ramp as Don Callis sneaks up to join the commentary desk. Davis sends Allin crashing into the ring apron and traps him in the ring skirt, but Allin sends Davis crashing into one of the barricades spine first and dumps him over the timekeeper's area into another barricade.

Back from the break, the two men are brawling through the crowd as the bell has yet to ring. Allin ascends to the top of an entrance tunnel and flies off it to take out Davis on the bottom, then flies over another one of the barricades to send Davis crashing back into the ringside area.

Allin cracks his skateboard across Davis' spine, but Davis levels Allin. Allin trips Davis in the ring skirt, but Davis sends Allin crashing into the front of the commentary desk head first and dumps him back in the ring. The bell finally sounds, and Davis levels Allin.

Back from another break, Allin lands a shotgun dropkick on Davis as Davis has his hand tied to the tag team rope. Davis manages to take down Allin and free himself, then lands a right hand on Allin. Allin looks to deliver a springboard Coffin Drop to Davis, but Davis intercepts him in a sleeper. Allin reverses into a pinfall, but Davis kicks out.

Davis delivers a back body drop to Allin, but Allin responds with a Code Red to Davis and pins him. Davis kicks out, but Allin sends Davis crashing into the commentary desk on the outside by flying off the top rope. He follows it up with a Coffin Drop to Davis off the top rope for the win.

Winner (and still): Darby Allin

After the match, Trent Beretta and Rocky Romero beat down Allin. Steven Borden runs out to the ring and levels Romero and Beretta with a pair of dropkicks. Borden stares down Davis, but the returning Josh Alexander blindsides Borden from behind and beats him down. He cinches in an Ankle Lock on Allin and stands tall over Allin and Borden with his Don Callis Family stablemates.

We then head over to a video from a fired up MJF, who sends a pointed message to Will Ospreay. 

Back at ringside, Divine Dominion makes their way out. The Brawling Birds follows. 

The bell rings and Bayne fires off shoulders on Windsor in the corner. Windsor regains the upper hand.

Back from the break, Windsor delivers a hanging DDT to Bayne off the middle rope and goes for a pin. She goes for a pin, but Bayne kicks out and Windsor delivers a clothesline to her off the top rope. Windsor rolls up Bayne, but Bayne kicks out and the two women exchange forearms with one another on the ring apron.

Bayne sends Windsor crashing off the ring apron with a big boot, but Windsor trips up Bayne when Bayne looks to land a kick on her. The two women level one another with clotheslines, but Kross grabs Windsor's AEW Women's World Tag Team Championship belts. Hayter goes after Kross and exchanges right hands with her, but Bayne hits Windsor with Windsor's AEW Women's World Tag Team Championship belt as the referee deals with Kross and Hayter.

Bayne dumps Windsor back inside the ring and delivers a running sit-out powerbomb to her for the win.

Winner: Megan Bayne

After the match, Bayne and Kross beat down Windsor until Hayter comes to Windsor's aid. 

We then head backstage, where we see a verbal confrontation between Jericho and Nick Wayne. This leads to a brawl between the two men that ends with Wayne being the man to come out on top. 

Back at ringside, Mercedes Mone makes her way out. 

Mone says she hasn't stopped smiling since All In and says she's told the fans she wanted and needed to be here in AEW because it's the only place where the women's revolution can be globalized. She says she's standing in the ring as the new AEW Women's World Champion and says she took a bet on herself. She says the AEW Women's World Championship is what happens when you stop asking for permission to be great, then says she's travelled the world since joining AEW winning championship after championship. She says getting to where she is meant leaving one thing behind: Willow Nightingale.

Mone says she showed the world who Nightingale is at All In and takes off her hat to reveal bruises under her eyes from the broken nose she sustained at All In. She thanks Nightingale and tells her to look who's smiling now, then says she did everything she said she was going to do and says the women's division is standing in the kingdom of the "CEO". She says she didn't work hard for just one moment, then says what she wants for the AEW Women's World Championship doesn't exist yet. She says it will now that she holds the title.

Thekla appears in the crowd with a drink in hand and says she wants to celebrate with Mone. She says she likes Mone, but for all the accolades and wins she has, she's never been "Toxic". She thanks Mone for what she did to Nightingale at All In and says Nightingale deserved to be humiliated, then says she's also heard Mone calling people dumb b****es in her absence. She says if there's one thing she hates more than a dumb b****, it's a dumb b**** calling other people that. She toasts Mone as Mone looks annoyed inside the ring and chugs her drink as Mone takes a shot inside the ring.

AR Fox then makes his way to the ring. Jon Moxley follows.

The bell rings and Fox pins Moxley. Moxley kicks out, but Fox ascends to the top rope and looks to fly. Moxley moves out of the way and levels Fox with a dropkick.

Back from the break, Moxley delivers a pair of clotheslines to Fox in the corner. Fox intercepts Moxley with a big boot and connects with a twisting neckbreaker on him, then ascends to the top rope and lands a 450 Splash on Moxley. Moxley responds with a Death Rider to Fox for the win.

Winner: Jon Moxley

Will Ospreay, Henare, Callum Newman, Francesco Akira, and Andrade El Idolo then make their way to the ring. The Demand and The Dogs follow.

Ospreay and Ricochet begin the action. The bell rings and the two men tag out to Toa Liona and Henare. Liona and Henrare fire off elbows on one another, but the action spills out of the ring and Andrade delivers a Tornillo to take down The Dogs and The Demand on the outside. Andrade, United Empire, and Ospreay take a selfie with a female fan in the crowd, but The Dogs and The Demand blindside them from behind.

Back from the break, Newman levels Bishop Kaun with a big boot. Kaun delivers a pair of chops to Newman and gets him up on his shoulders, then tags in Henare. Henare delivers an Airplane Spin to Kaun and follows it up with a running senton, then goes for a pin but Gabe Kidd breaks the fall.

Andrade levels Kidd with an elbow strike, but Kidd delivers a clothesline to Andrade. Akira fires off chops on Liona and Kaun, but both men remain on their feet. Ospreay and Ricochet tag in, and Ospreay levels Ricochet with a corkscrew kick. Ospreay levels Clark Connors with a kick, but Kidd levels Ospreay until Andrade takes out Kidd. Kaun takes out Andrade, but Henare goes after him until Liona goes after Henare. Ricochet flies off the top rope to level Henare with a knee off the top rope, but Akora delivers a moonsault off the middle rope to level Kaun and Liona on the outside.

Connors delivers a spear to Newman, but Ospreay catches him with a Hidden Blade for the win.

After the match, The Dogs beat down Andrade. Kidd sends Andrade crashing over the commentary desk, but Ospreay goes after him. Kidd low blows Ospreay in the ring, then slides a chair into the ring.

The Death Riders' music hits and the stable makes their way out. Jon Moxley stares down Kidd in the ring, but Andrade rains down right hands on Kidd and brawls through the crow with him. Moxley helps Ospreay up, then notices a graphic appearing on the jumbo tron announcing Moxley will be challenging Ospreay for the AEW World Championship at All Out.
