CZW Promoter Releasing Jon Moxley Documentary In October

Combat Zone Wrestling co-owner Steve Karel will release a documentary about AEW's Jon Moxley in October. 

Per a press release, Karel's Stonecutter Media Limited announced the former ECW General Manager was coming out of retirement to produce "I Fought Jon Moxley," scheduled for release on October 13 in select theaters, major cable, and digital platforms.

The press release touts Karel's decades-long career promoting and producing live wrestling events: 

"[Karel] is also stepping back into the promoter's circle through Stonecutter Event Promotions, bringing the same Moxley style intensity that defined the extreme indie circuit back to the ring under the CZW and UWF banners."

"The live televised event will reunite a lineup of independent wrestling standouts, delivering the raw, unscripted energy longtime fans have been missing and the edgiest, most over the top arena experience in years," it continues.

"I Fought Jon Moxley" is described as an 80-minute documentary directed by Brendan Amoruso and written by Maven T. Bentley, looking at Moxley's "most violent, career defining matches" with appearances from David "DJ Hyde" Markland, Nick Gage, Rich Swann, Mickie Knuckles, Big F'n Joe, Larry Legend, Eran Ashe, and Gary Walter. 

Markland and Karel will extend their CZW partnership into the project as executive producers. 

"There was only one way to properly send this film into the world and salute Jon back where it all started, in the ring," Karel is quoted. "This is a celebration of where he came from and what he built before the world knew his name.

Moxley came through the independent circuit working death matches as part of CZW from 2009 until he was signed by WWE in 2011.
