TNA's Matt Hardy Reflects On Former WWE Co-Workers Who Have Passed Away

During a recent episode of his "Extreme Life" podcast, former multi-time WWE Tag Team Champion, Matt Hardy, rewatched WWE's Unforgiven 2005 pay-per-view event. As he revisited his career-defining win over Edge in a steel cage match, there were other notable wrestlers and matches on the card too, including the late Rosey and Lance Cade. Both men were featured opposite of each other in a tag team match that saw Cade and former talent Trevor Murdoch defeat Rosey and The Hurricane of their World Tag Team Championships. Paying his respects, Hardy described Rosey as a soft-spoken wrestler who was admired by those near and far.

"Rosey was a real sweet guy...We liked him a whole lot...very, very nice guy. I dug him. Very soft- spoken," Hardy said. "Umaga was much more...he's loud, much more flamboyant, you know, when it comes to that. Zilla's dad, he was just such a character. Rosey was a lot more laid-back, but he really enjoyed doing the bit with Hurricane."

Rosey, the late older brother to the current World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns, passed away just 10 days after his 47th birthday, on April 17, 2017, due to complications related to congestive heart failure. Similar to Rosey, Cade passed away from heart failure at the young age of 29 in 2010. Hardy said Cade's performance in the ring was can't miss, as the former star took well to the craft, and was very smart on how he approached it.

"Lance Cade was a very nice guy, very hard worker, obviously," Hardy added. "You know, he had issues that he had dealt with off and on, but...he was a very good dude. And I think an extremely talented wrestler, too... He was just a very solid worker. He was a great athlete. He was very smooth. He was also very smart with how he would do things. And he was very much like a throwback to old school wrestling."
