WWE NXT Results 9/22 - 2026 Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Begins, Women's Tag Match

After "NXT" General Manager Robert Stone announced its comeback during last Tuesday's episode of "NXT", the 2026 Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic will be kicking off tonight. Although the exact matches for tonight's show have yet to be revealed as of writing, Vanity Project, Osiris Griffin and Cutler James of DarkState, Los Americanos, Noam Dar and Romeo Moreno, Sean Legacy and Dorian Van Dux, The Creed Brothers, AAA stars El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. and Galeno del Mal, AAA stable Tokyo Bad Boys, AAA star Mini Vikingo and Chazz "Starboy" Hall, Nathan Frazer and Axiom, Hank Walker and Tank Ledger, Jax Presley and Harley Riggins, Shido Ash and Viktor Zanov, and Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo and Uriah Connors of BirthRight will all be competing in the tournament.

AAA Reina de Reinas Champion La Catalina, Women's North American Champion Zaria, and Thea Hail all confronted NXT Women's Champion Kelani Jordan last Tuesday in an effort to call their shots for Jordan's title, which led to Catalina and Hail teaming up to take out Jordan and Zaria in a physical brawl that broke out between all four women. Following such, Jordan and Zaria will be taking on Catalina and Hail in tag team action.

The aforementioned Legacy and Van Dux will be joining forces with Zilla Fatu to go head-to-head with BirthRight's Lexis King, Uriah Connors, and Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo. BirthRight has unsuccessfully tried recruiting Zilla to their ranks over the past few weeks, and frustrations from members of the stable at their lack of attention from the "NXT" Universe boiled over last Tuesday when they attacked Legacy and Van Dux in the moments that followed their match against DarkState until Zilla came to their aid.

We are live! Vic Joseph and Booker T greet audiences at home as Noam Dar and Romeo Moreno make their way to the ring. Los Americanos follow.

Noa Dar and Bravo Americano begin the action. The bell rings and the two lock up. Moreno tags in, but Bravo delivers an Atomic Drop and fires off right hands on him. He levels him with one, then tags in Rayo. Bravo catapults Moreno into Rayo for him to deliver a right hand to him from the ring apron before Dar tags back in. Dar cinches in a Triangle on Rayo, but Bravo sends Moreno crashing into both men with a bodyslam to break the hold.

Bravo flies over the top rope to level Dar and Moreno on the outside, but Rayo dumps Dar back in the ring and stomps on his hand during the commercial break. Moreno tags back in, but Rayo does on his side and delivers a double stomp to Moreno off the middle rope. Bravo then tags back in, but Moreno sends Bravo crashing off the ropes with a powerbomb.

Rayo tags in back from the break and prevents Moreno from tagging out by landing a double stomp on his spine. Moreno breaks free and tags out to Dar, who cinches in an Ankle Lock on Bravo. Bravo escapes, but Dar rocks him with a right hand and sits Bravo on the top rope. Dar tags out to Moreno, and the two men deliver a hanging cutter-double stomp off the top rope combination to Bravo.

Bravo gets both Moreno and Dar up on his shoulders and delivers a double Airplane Spin to both of them. Bravo ascends to the top rope as Rayo does the same on the opposite corners, and Los Americanos deliver double headbutts to Dar and Moreno.

Rayo tags back in and lands a superkick on Dar. Bravo delivers a second one to Dar, but Rayo levels Moreno with a moonsault on the outside as Dar rolls up Bravo inside the ring. Bravo kicks out, but Dar catches in an Ankle Lock. Bravo escapes and lands a German suplex on Dar, but Rayo tags in and Bravo has Dar seated on the top rope. Dar delivers a hurricanrana to Dar, and Rayo follows it up with a diving headbutt to him. Rayo pins Dar, but Dar kicks out.

Moreno lands a Death Valley Driver on Bravo off the middle rope, but Dar tags back in and delivers a Russian Leg Sweep, forearm strike combination on Bravo with Moreno for the win.

Winners: Noam Dar and Romeo Moreno

Kali Armstrong then makes her way to the ring. 

We then head over to a video of Kendal Grey in a therapist session. 

Back at ringside, Skylar Raye makes her way down.

The bell rings and Armstrong fires off shoulders on Raye's midsection in the corner. Raye sends Armstrong crashing into the mat with a pair of arm drags, but Armstrong sends Raye crashing into the mat with a bodyslam. Raye rolls up Armstrong, but Armstrong kicks out. The two women take turns pinning one another, but Armstrong delivers an Over The Shoulder powerslam to Raye.

Armstrong continues wearing down Raye during the commercial break, but Raye fires off right hands on Armstrong and looks to level her with a crossbody. Armstrong catches Raye and delivers a Fallaway Slam to her, then fires off a couple shoulders on her midsection and delivers a belly-to-belly suplex on her. She wears down Raye with a submission hold, but Raye delivers a back elbow to Armstrong in the corner and ascends to the top rope.

Raye delivers a Frog Splash to Armstrong and pins her, but Armstrong kicks out and sends Raye crashing into the mat with a spinning slam. She follows it up with a spinebuster to Raye and pins her, but Raye kicks out and Armstrong gets her up on one shoulder. Raye escapes and looks to fly off the middle rope, but Armstrong delivers a scoop powerslam to her and sets up for the Kali Connection.

Raye ducks out of the way and Armstrong accidentally hits the referee, but Reina Volcan appears out of nowhere and delivers a powerslam to Armstrong. She lands a F5 on Raye, but Raye's arm falls on top of Armstrong to pin her for the win when the referee recovers.

Winner: Skylar Raye

Back at ringside, La Catalina and Thea Hail make their way out. Kelani Jordan and Zaria follow. 

Zaria and Hail begin the action. The bell rings and Jordan tags in. Hail levels Jordan with a shoulder tackle, but Jordan levels Hail with a dropkick and tags out to Catalina. Catalina flies out of the ring to level Jordan on the outside, and Hail follows suit by flying off the ropes to take out both women.

Catalina lands a shotgun dropkick on Jordan back inside the ring during the commercial break, then tags in Hail. Zaria tags in on her side, but Jordan tries to trip up Hail from the outside. This opens the door for Zaria to level Hail with a clothesline and set up for a delayed vertical suplex, but Hail escapes and cinches in a sleeper on Zaria. Zaria tags in and Jordan catches Hail with a suplex, then goes for a pin but Hail kicks out.

Zaria charges at Hail, but Hail moves out of the way and sends Zara crashing into the ring post shoulder first. Catalina tags in and ascends to the top rope, then lands a missile dropkick to take out Zaria and levels Jordan with a clothesline. She sends Zaria crashing into the mat and lands a suplex on Jordan, then lands Hip Attacks on Jordan and Zaria in opposite corners. Zaria sets up for an F5 on Hail (who has tagged back in), but Hail rolls up Zaria for the win.

Winners: La Catalina and Thea Hail

We then head backstage, where Sean Legacy informs Zilla Fatu in the men's locker room that Dorian Van Dux has a punctured lung and has not been medically cleared. Van Dux appears and insists he's good to go, but Legacy reminds him the doctor told him he can't compete under any circumstances. EK Prosper enters to reveal himself as the man Legacy has called in to replace Van Dux, and Van Dux appears visibly sad and upset he's being replaced.
