Lawsuit Against WWE Involving The Bloodline Dismissed With Prejudice

A lawsuit against TKO Group Holdings, WWE, and video game publisher 2K Games and its parent company, Take-Two Interactive, has been dismissed with prejudice after an independent promoter alleged copyright infringement during the Bloodline's entrance sequence, used both on WWE programming, as well as in a 2K game.

According to PWInsider, the lawsuit, filed by independent promoter Nathaniel Tatha-Nanandji, of Arkansas' WCWA Wrestling, was dismissed with prejudice on September 10. A judge ruled that there was no "copying of constituent elements" of the entrance compared to Tatha-Nanandji's original work.

Tatha-Nanandji alleged in a 30-page lawsuit that WWE had taken intellectual material from his events with WCWA, for the entrance of a faction known as Tier 1, and used them in Bloodline storylines on WWE programming. The lawsuit outlined, in-depth, what Tatha-Nanandji believed to have been taken from his ideas, and how he believed the Bloodline's entrance copied his sequence created for Tier 1.

The plaintiff claimed to own the audiovisual entrance sequence, which he created in April 2019 and used through 2021. Tatha-Nanandji alleged WWE began using a similar sequence for the Bloodline in September 2021, after a WWE employee attended a WCWA event and "kept tabs" on the promotion. Tatha-Nanandji notified WWE about the alleged infringement in October 2025, after first cross-referencing the sequences at the beginning of 2024, but said that WWE continued with its use.

According to PWI, there is a settlement conference set for next month. As the suit was dismissed with prejudice, it cannot be refiled in the same court, in this case, the Western District Court of Arkansas. Tatha-Nanandji initially requested a jury trial in the lawsuit.
